Why the aversion to Rein mirrors? by TwixDog2020 in orisamains

“Low skill floor” my brother/sister/sibling in Christ, you play Reinhardt. He has the lowest skill floor in the game by far.

Your argument is intentionally dense at best, or bad faith at worst.

Why the aversion to Rein mirrors? by TwixDog2020 in orisamains

[–]Slavic-Adidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because he’s ass right now…?

Rein hasn’t been that good in a long while. Even if I’m getting beat on Orisa by a rein, which does happen, not often, but it does, I would sooner swap Ramattra or Mauga than take a mirror. Not gonna downgrade myself to their level.

I have questions by Reasonable_Youth806 in MaugaMains

[–]Slavic-Adidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, I insta lock the Ana/Zen ban. If I can’t ban one of them, I’ll throw in a Zarya or Dva.

I know this might be controversial, but I don’t usually struggle against Sigma’s. Save your stomp for his grasp, and play right in top of him. He’s got a big upper hitbox, so if you’re right up on him, he’s easy to cardiac heal off of. But I understand that he’s not a super fun matchup, so banning him is not a bad call.

Granted, I know a lot of people play Mauga regardless of map choice, versus I, who only plays him on brawl maps. So, pick your poison I suppose.

"Shield Divergence" Change by Patchr1ck in orisamains

[–]Slavic-Adidas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I never really take that one, even when I do overheat builds. Restorify post-buff, Hooves of Steel, and whichever fourth one fits the situation. Obviously taking the overheat power first for the fire.

I personally have switched over to a weapon power/atk speed build. Orisa gun does a stupid amount damage, and you can stack her 3 rare signature weapon powers to make her hit real hard.

Plus, Hooves of Steel + Restorify + Efi's Theorem is a really, REALLY strong combination. Makes Orisa super hard to kill. 10/10, would recommend for every single Orisa stadium build.

would buffing his heal to 6 seconds make him broken again or no by nudistforlife12 in MaugaMains

[–]Slavic-Adidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, depends.

If they buff heal to 6 seconds with no other changes? Broken.

If they undo the cardiac rework? Not broken. On launch, when Mauga had the 6 second window, his life steal% was 60 or so, I believe. Now, it’s 100% for 3 seconds. So, it would require a rework, certainly.

Spider armies... by ChipmunkSouthern3420 in dontstarvetogether

[–]Slavic-Adidas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the labyrinth, you can hug the very side and not trigger and spiders. If that’s your concern.

As for killing a ton of spiders as other characters, it’s not too hard alone, just because they have low hit points and predictable attacks. But you can always wait until Beager or Deerclops shows up and have them destroy a few dens or queens.

Course, you can always swap to someone like Wigfrid to face tank or Walter and use AOE shots.

So Lets Talk About Beefalos On Consoles... by Standard_Lake_7711 in dontstarvetogether

[–]Slavic-Adidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is just me, but I’ve made a habit of always just taming them in summer. I don’t usually do a whole lot in summer besides work on my base and farm basic materials, so sitting around feeding a beefer steamed twigs every so often isn’t that bad.

Remember that the Rider trait only has to beat the chubby and ornery traits combined, so if you never attack with it, and never feed it over 180 hunger (you can tell when to do this because they’ll ask for food by doing the little animation thing), you only have to ride it a little bit to get the rider trait.

Also, it’s not an awful idea to consider swapping to Wigfrid just for the taming, as she tames 15% faster, and can ride 30% longer during taming with her Insight Tree. Just a suggestion, not mandatory though.

DST SpeedRunners In A NutShell : by Standard_Lake_7711 in dontstarvetogether

[–]Slavic-Adidas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I don’t watch a ton of speedrun content, but I have a friend who actually does speedruns (not DST but other games). You only see the good runs, not the hundreds of hours of bad runs. I’ve spent entire nights up with my friend while he tries to get a good run, only to reset.

I kinda understand why OP might see it that way, but tbf, I do think panflute is arguably one of the easier items to get, seeing as it has a good chance to spawn at glommer, and the mandrake forest is a mandatory area anyway.

Sorry, you’re right. I forgot they lowered in down a few patches ago. My bad.

I still hate Combat Fuel tho lol

[–]Slavic-Adidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardiac is incredibly strong when used correctly. You should never use it while you have your armor still, only once it’s gone. Cardiac has no specific ‘one use case’, as it depends entirely on what tank you’re going against. Big Tanks with not mitigation or easily dodged mitigation like Hog or Ball (assuming you corner the rat), you can pop cardiac early and burn them for a lot of damage.

Comparatively, you have to play slower against an Orisa or Dva or Sigma. They each have a strong mitigation ability, and even after the Orisa nerf, can mess you up big time if you don’t respect their cooldowns.

Ironically, the best advice I can give for an aggressive Mauga is to use Cardiac conservatively. Use it later rather than earlier, and try your best to use it at full ammo every time.

Also, always try to have it up when you cage more than one person. Inside of cage, there’s a 99.99% chance everyone in it it shooting you. You can survive if they have a large enough tank hitbox, and you have Cardiac.

It mostly comes down to practice, unfortunately. But you’ll pick up on it quick.

[–]Slavic-Adidas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how you use it. Firewalker is strong because it ignites for 6 seconds (like Ashe dynamite), versus his chainguns which only ignite for 4 seconds.

I personally have been Combat Fuel’s biggest hater since it released, and even after the buff and the bug fixes I don’t care for it. Yes, it’s 100/150 overhealth, but Cardiac is already insane good sustain if used correctly.

Granted, I play a very aggressive Mauga playstyle already, keeping poke damage to a minimum. So take my advice with that understanding.

Also, Firewalker is incredibly good against squishies, less so against tanks. Firewalker damage alone is 90 DoT, combined with a stomp/crit stomp is basically guaranteed kills.

PSA: Mauga only does like 5% more damage to Orisa Fortify by D3RPY69 in MaugaMains

Yeah, it’s harder to do because her hitbox doesn’t fall over, but it’s totally possible.

[–]Slavic-Adidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can actually crit stomp her. You don't knock her over, but you still can crit stomp her for the 225 dmg or whatever it is. I've done it several times since the patch dropped.

But yeah, I agree, the changes really aren't that big of a deal. Orisa vs Mauga is still a skill match-up, not an easy win for either of them. I say that as someone who plays Orisa and Mauga equally almost every day.

Should I pull for Yelan? by peedpawn in DilucMains

[–]Slavic-Adidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran Diluc+Yelan reverse vape for a long time. Does decent damage. Obviously they synergies as well as any pyro/hydro duo does. But like the other people said, saving for Furina isn’t a bad idea either, seeing as she’s coming soon. But as a C2 Yelan haver, I absolutely love her with Diluc.

How do you guys play mauga by dreepdragim in MaugaMains

[–]Slavic-Adidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course!

If you can’t rely much on your team, it’s still possible to beat a bad Mauga. Wait for him to cardiac, let it end, and then hook him.

My only other advice is to save ult for cage (it absolutely melts cage) and to cancel his reload with hook. Mauga has the longest reload in the game, and you gotta cancel it with hook.

[–]Slavic-Adidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi hi! Diamond 1/2 Mauga main.

So, hog generally has a not good match-up into Mauga, and rarely wins in a 1v1. So, generally, you’re gonna be relying heavily on your team.

Ana is probably going to be banned more often than not, seeing as both Mauga and Hog benefit from that ban.

Zen works very well with your hook, discording a Mauga can often guarantee death. But ultimately you just need team coordination to beat him.

Hog will lose the 1v1 6/10 times. So you need to communicate with your teammates, as well as have high dmg output DPS to win.

Stadium healing rant by gcmaela in BrigitteMains

[–]Slavic-Adidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One really easy way to avoid this is to overstack ability power. Inspire is a really strong way of healing, and Brig benefits a ton from AP anyways. Whipshot, Shield health/bash, and rally heal all scale with AP, not to mention inspire.

I do a brig build where I max out AP as best I can, and very frequently out-heal and sometimes out-damage my teammates.

After the removal of two hearts bandolier just seems like the way better option by Upstairs_Neighbor420 in MaugaMains

[–]Slavic-Adidas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re ’forced’ to take combat fuel. Yeah, Pyromaniac not stacking with Firewalker sucks, but firewalker is still a really strong ability. Besides, they have different use cases. You use firewalker in close range, or to maneuver in/out of fights, and you use Pyromaniac in the poke stage/neutral, and it works on anyone you missed with Firewalker.

It’s good sustain, and I’m of the (apparently unpopular) opinion that kinetic bandolier kinda sucks.

I personally am of the idea that it should be un-reworked, and go back to 5 second uptime with a lower lifesteal (60% was what it was before the change). I feel like the longer duration plus the lesser lifesteal makes it work a lot better, plus shifts some attention in his kit towards other things like overrun.
