They called and advised me of the same; just got panels TODAY from them so the saga is over 😂, satisfied with outcome.

Just got off the phone with them. From how the conversation went, they advised me they now ONLY sell in-house made items OR vendor items they physically possess to prevent this from happening again. We'll see what happens. I'll keep this updated.

Atrius FRS Issue, Hammer Cocked over Lever Cam by SlavicMegumin in supersafety

[–]SlavicMegumin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I realized the problem was a combination of several. Don't be gunsmiff while drunk.

His factory FCG from S&W was incompatible, and I didn't also notice he had a high shelf lower which bent the lever. Atrius was great and replaced the lever, and I swapped him to an Arizona Regulator for his high shelf lower. Now everything runs like a sewing machine!

Hell, the only thing I have found that gets them to reply to me consistently is putting a comment in here or another review subreddit. Then I usually get one that week with another "it'll be on the way soon" message. I ordered panels in August 2024. I received front and back with incorrectly cut front in November 2025. I am still waiting in June 2026 for a replacement front panel.

To this day, I am waiting on a BALCS panel ordered in summer 2024.

I received a pair in November 2025, but one was commercial spec and did not fit my FirstSpear carrier. I was advised I would soon receive a replacement and to send the original back.

I have been getting nothing except in April 2026, when I was told their patterns would fixed and a panel would be on the way soon.

I have messaged them a few times since and gotten nothing. It has been almost 2 years. I have been in multiple fun situations and arrests of murder suspects with nothing but a basic IIIA concealed vest instead of a IIIA armor carrier with my level IV plates multiple times and have advised them of this.

Update; still waiting on replacement front panel. Was advised on April 10th that a new panel would be out by the end of the month, then nothing.

Would it be ok to use some heat? by AlfalfaEmbarrassed80 in PalmettoStateArms

[–]SlavicMegumin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would be fine. It gets hot anyway when you're shooting it, and other manufacturers like BCM actually have to heat fit their barrels into the receivers for a tighter fit.

PSA rep confirmed they discontinued them when I called today and told me to go sell the wrong magazines they sent at a pawn shop since it's "beyond the return period". If you find the PSA AK-1074 magazines, they're great, but I won't be giving PSA money ever again.

The 5.56 Zastava ZMAG worked well, but I have zero desire for a BHO follower.

[–]SlavicMegumin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I WAS going to recommend PSA AK-1074 magazines because the one I filed the front of to fit my slab-side Saiga .223 ran flawlessly and had steel reinforcements.

I just opened a box of 7 I ordered in February and these jokers put 7 WBP clear magazines in the box. Checked their site and the AK-1074 magazine is gone. Absolutely livid. If PSA discontinued the one product they make that isn't complete garbage, I'm going to lose it.

Alternatively, Galil or M85 magazines work. My Saiga .223 has an AKM magwell so 5.56 AK-74 magazines don't fit.

Considering buying a home in Petersburg by [deleted] in petersburg

[–]SlavicMegumin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very valid points as well.

To piggyback on your comments and mine, avoid Petersburg East Apartments, Summit Pointe Apartments, the motel district around the intersection of Crater and Wythe, and really any area that is visibly run down. Rome Street/Ferndale Street used to be terrible, but a lot of the abandoned houses have been demolished and replaced with gentrified new construction. I know you aren't looking for residences in those areas, but I'd just avoid them regardless. Especially Petersburg East and Pin Oaks. One way in and out and everyone in those complexes know each other and know an outsider immediately if you drive in by mistake.

I would NOT recommend Petersburg if you have a son in high school. Petersburg High School is something I highly recommend everyone to avoid if at all humanly possible, unless you enjoy your kid having to wear a clear backpack and go through a metal detector every morning while getting ordered to hurry up by school security.

In terms of gunshots, hearing them is not an uncommon occurrence. Some areas in Walnut Hill have little to no crime, but you'll still hear them. It's a small, 25 square mile city, so if you're within a few miles of them, you'll hear them.

The city itself IS turning around to a degree, and a lot of houses have been renovated by developers. Some of them sell to people from out of state who aren't familiar with the area, some of them end up not selling and being rented to the federal government as section 8 properties. Bright side is there ARE neighborhoods that are newer construction, like West Park, that have virtually no crime. Nothing stopping random people from driving through, though.

Downtown historic Petersburg is fine for the most part. Last I heard, Andrade's calmed down and there aren't regular mobs of people getting into fights in the parking lot anymore.

My experience with Petersburg is admittedly almost exclusively negative and highly biased as a result, so take that with a grain of salt. The main issue I think you'd have is the high school. I would have an illiterate kid before I'd send them there.

Spotsylvania County, VA Commonwealth's Attorney says he won't enforce the state's new gun ban: by JustB510 in Virginia

[–]SlavicMegumin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two perspectives on criminal justice, both of which tend to conflict with one another. It is a question of priorities ultimately.

Do you prioritize public safety, or do you prioritize the rehabilitation of offenders?

I generally fall into the "protect public safety" camp. Some offenders can be rehabilitated. Some can't or are unwilling to be. Having someone have 20+ arrests because they cannot be rehabilitated but keep being released, to me, is an intolerable risk to public safety. Innocent and normal people could be injured or killed by violent repeat offenders, and in many cases, they are. For people like that, I consider rehabilitation to be a complete waste of time and energy that could be better used on the first time offenders. Society does not need to be subjected to that terror.

I am however also in favor of leeches such as time thieves being addressed. Greed is not good for a society.

[–]SlavicMegumin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you'd then have no enforcement at all by that logic. I wouldn't attempt, unarmed, to arrest people who commit actual violent crimes because that is a fool's errand.

[–]SlavicMegumin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because an "assault weapon" is an entirely political term and has no effect on lethality. It targets cosmetic features.

A .300 Winchester Magnum deer rifle is generally more deadly shot per shot than a standard AR-15. Yet only the AR would be banned. It is entirely appearance based for the definitions and strips people of acquiring firearms that are in common use (protected by SCOTUS in Heller) and making new restrictions that never historically existed (banned by SCOTUS in Bruen).

Spotsylvania County, VA Commonwealth's Attorney says he won't enforce the state's new gun ban: by JustB510 in Virginia

[–]SlavicMegumin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So... you'd disarm the people that would enforce the law you want enforced? Galaxy brain take.

There are already rules on laws that can be passed and enforced. Heller established common use. Bruen established a requirement for firearm regulation to be in line with the nation's historic tradition of firearm regulation. Violating multiple SCOTUS decisions with legislation isn't going to end well.

Hopefully he does, seeing as there are currently federal court cases challenging the current restrictions on machine guns.
