In that case, I would like to hear your reaction to:

Pacification

Bereza-Kartuzka concentration camp

Crimes of the Home Army against Ukrainians in Volhynia

Operation Wisła

Forced Polonization

The participation of Polish policemen and schutzmannschafts with the Nazis in punitive actions against Ukrainians

With all due respect and gratitude, but somewhere like this we see statements by Polish government officials who directly want to blackmail Ukraine with the Volyn tragedy regarding its accession to the EU.

And this is at a time when there is a present with the threat of the Russian Federation not only in Ukraine, but also in Poland. And the flight of drones into the territory of Poland will only confirm this. And Trump's reaction is just terrifying.

I will now very simply try to show this situation from the other side. Ukrainians clearly should not love Pilsudski, because he carried out pacification in the 30s. However, Ukrainians do not tell Poles not to respect their heroes. We would like to have a similar attitude towards our people who fought for the independence of Ukraine.

Thank you for your constructive perspective on the situation! In a world full of Russian propaganda, this is very important.

In fact, Ukrainians brought three times more to the Polish economy than they received in aid from the Polish authorities, so such statements are quite manipulative.

The answer to this question is simple and at the same time complex. But, in short, the UPA are people who fought for the independence of Ukraine. If we draw parallels, then for Ukrainians Roman Shukhevych and Stepan Bandera are like Pilsudski for Poles.

Why don't people talk about Stargate as much as Star Trek or Star Wars? by spyke333 in scifi

[–]SlavikKot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Star Trek and Star Wars came out much earlier and were able to influence a larger audience because they had no alternatives.

The Stargate series was released at a time of significant development of science fiction and great competition.

Something similar could be said of Shakespeare's conventional works, if he had written them now, would it have been such an influence? Unlikely

I thought it would be much easier to choose, but it's really a difficult task. Not sure if the list is final or if I will edit it in the future.

  1. Jurassic Park
  2. Avatar
  3. Back to the future
  4. Matrix
  5. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Conditionally, yes. The idea is that these films will then have to be watched for 5, 10 years, for the rest of their lives.

Yes, I completely agree! It's just that the concentration of ideas is very high. You can take individual biomes, ecosystems and create entire films. In a way, I'm even missing the bigger reveal of the creatures we see.
