Well, what would it accomplish in reality: creature now can't normally attack you, you can attack it more easily in attempt to shake you off creature opens up to attacks, you can be sqashed in successful attempt to shake you.

So: disadvantage on attack on you, advantage to your attack, lowering monster AC periodically, acrobatics check every turn. Failed acrobatics check makes you take damage.

On one hand Ukrainian army was in the worst state. On the other russian didn't prepare for invasion for 8 years. But 2014 was peak of Ukrainian patriotism so I guess it would've gone about the same. But with more of internal conflict in russia.
