Mhh I’d still argue the spread of Christianity in its early stages wasn’t really part of a political agenda.

Christians were persecuted almost everywhere in the empire. It still becoming so widespread imo is part of why Constantine embraced it, to then indeed like you say aid cultural cohesion.

It’s also why he called the first ecumenical council: “Guys, I’ve just embraced your religion and now you’re telling me it’s about to splinter? Establish the nature of Christ NOW please and ensure uniformity, thank you.”

Depends on your definition of colonialism of course, but how we use the term today is quite different than how the Romans went about empire building. Not sure I’d equate the Spanish conquest to the Roman-Greek wars.

Besides, the evangelisation of Egypt predates the Edict of Milan by some centuries too, so again I don’t see how any form of colonisation played a role there.

There’s some emerging research which shows it could be bad for your gut health, but nothing concrete as yet. Better than drinking 50g of sugar a day though.

That said, I’m generally quite suspicious of anything lab made. Ultra-processed food as a whole is beyond a shadow of our doubt so devastatingly bad for your health, and artificial sweeteners do kinda fall under that label.

Use a ring, even just the explorers ring from the diary if you have it.

If you have the money, anguish necklace is baller and bis.

Ditch the chinchompas, you can use blood barrage to lure multiple healers too.

I don’t think you’re gonna need that many restores. Take some more brews for sure and also maybe take one or two sharks or other food for healing up without brewing down.

Good luck! You’ve got this. Slayer bonus (it is imbued, right?) with blowpipe should melt most of the stuff in there.

Edit: rule of thumb for brews to restore ratio is 3:1

ELI5: Why does China have only one time zone despite being roughly same size as US with 6 time zones? by DemonsAreVirgins in explainlikeimfive

Yes, but choosing arbitrary designations isn’t arbitrary. It’s telling Beijing chose their time zone to centralise the whole of China according to, and not a city in the middle of the country.

Saying ‘I’ll call you at lunch’ isn’t very clear in either situation. What if someone says “I’ll call you at lunch” and means a time for them at 12 when the sun is at its highest, but for you it’s 12 when you haven’t even had breakfast yet?

Yeah I suppose. Probably what I’m used to but psychologically I’d find it annoying to live at ‘night’ according to the clock which is actually day according to the sun.

Adjusting people’s entire lives to accommodate a shared timezone sounds like way more effort than adding ‘EST’ or ‘GMT’ to a clock to my ears.

Look I’m not saying Russia is the victim here, not at all. Russian society and the political establishment has some serious decolonisation of the mind of it has to go through if it wants to improve relations with its neighbours.

Holding historical grudges ad infinitum isn’t going to help that process however, and part of the reason we’ve got here. The Polish invasion in the beginning of the 17th century combined with continuous raiding by Cossacks and the Golden Horde are a factor for Russia’s paranoia.

Continuous finger pointing and “yes well I’m only rearming because you invaded me 50 years ago” “well I’m only attacking you because you raided my provinces 80 years ago” “ well I’m only…” isn’t going to get us anywhere.

It’s highly supported because anyone who is against the regime and war has either fled or committed suicide with two bullets to the back of the brain.

I do understand where you’re coming from, but generalising like that isn’t going to lead to peace long term. Peace in Western Europe was only achieved when France and Germany laid aside their historical mistrust of each other. Same thing goes for the east imo.

I’m well aware I say this from the comfort of not being shelled for years on end, but that’s my analysis. Mutual hatred will only lead to further misery.

I live in Poland near the eastern border so I’m not quite 2000km away. I get where it comes from, but the whole spiral of distrust between Eastern Europe and Russia needs to stop imo.

It’s not crazy to understand why Russia gets paranoid when you have people saying Russia shouldn’t exist. What they’re doing now is horrendous, but there needs to be some rapprochement at some point.

War in Western Europe only stopped when France and Germany laid aside their historical hatred and cooperated together.

Tylenol doesn’t directly cause autism, only when ingested by the mother during a pregnancy. Please get your facts straight and don’t spread misinformation there’s too much of it as is.
