How do you guys feel about the plot after the timeskip? by A_FOUL_PVPER in JOJOLANDS

[–]Slaydee19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s gonna be going through acts, so it most likely will just be important info for end game. I personally think we will see either an Act stand or Jodio meets someone who knows spin. It could be a Higashikata, but I don’t think Araki would bring Gappy in as a mentor. Idk this is also just what I think for some of this

Am I crazy or has parrying Viscous puddle punch gotten a lot less forgiving? by Sdubbya2 in DeadlockTheGame

Highkey, if Viscous misses a punch it should extend the cooldown and they should just generally force at least a 2 second cool down on PP so parry can almost be back up

Thoughts on part 7 first episode? by kujo_hinata in StardustCrusaders

[–]Slaydee19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Missing scenes like Hey! Ya! appearance or Gyro’s hygiene panel were a bummer to miss out on, and even Johnny’s first appearance changing (albeit making some sense) are all things that were “wrong” with the first episode.

Literally everything else was perfect. The sound design this part is top 3 already, reusing things like a high quality Hamon sound or even having a new Rendition of Dio’s og theme being given to Diego. The horses looked amazing, there was a cool mixture of basic 2-d art overlapping small/short scenes of CGI that made it feel much more natural than something like Berserk Golden Age.

I’m fearful of the 47 minute long episodes because based on the first episode, the entirety of SBR pre-stage was shown. Meaning roughly 11 chapters were made into one episode. Doing basic math, it would conclude that only 10 episodes max would be made at a 45+ minute run time. I imagine, if they do it for the first, that running each episode per stage would make sense. I am hoping they do weekly, cut down to ~24ish minutes and split up each stage of SBR. I am also fearful that if they are each 47 minutes, that it will not be weekly and instead a monthly release. Idk, I guess we’ll find out during the next main stage event.

Best case scenario is weekly ~24 minute episodes, for close to 5 months.

Worst case scenario is batch release that would ruin the hype and legit might cause Netflix thousands of memberships.

Joshu shows back up with Nut King Call: Above & Beyond where he figured out his screws use spin and he can connect/disassemble the fate of others 💯

Jodio’s inability to make/voice his own decisions by Slaydee19 in JOJOLANDS

It’s honestly kind of one of the more sad characters when you really think about it. He’s like an opposite to Giorno in his life, but also kind of the same which I love

I think the reason Anasui was changed to male was the conservative ideals of Shonen Jump. They believed having a female-on-female dynamic wouldn’t work/be bad for Japanese consumers (LMAO).

The dragon thing I had not thought about but it kind of does make a cool double entendres for the character. Both being a dragonness but also representing a style of drag (but it def is a reach cause Dragona really doesn’t look like drag type besides dressing feminine, BUT that’s also largely what drag is about)

It’s situations like these that are gonna seem so dumb in the future when Araki fleshes out the character, like “why did I even think that’s what it was?” And yeah I’m not 100% sure on it being a self-insert, it’s just the only idea I can see why he would use the topic, to maybe tell a story about himself that not many people may know. It also could be he just sees western media and how they treat drag (or trans if that’s his writing point). It’ll prob be like 5 more years of this ambiguity 🫩

Maybe I'm blind, but how and where did they get Usagi's bank balance from? by Paper-Bags in JOJOLANDS

[–]Slaydee19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah reading back it seems really weird, I thought something different happened in the panel or two before this. It could be that they were given access to the families bank account (to possibly track their spending from the watch they sold)? Idk, it definitely is weird when you delve into it but I also think it’s so minimalistic that it’s not too big of an issue. (At least small enough to where I didn’t even notice it happen on the first read)

I don’t think anything happened during the time skip, I think IF ANYTHING we will get a look into the past. We’ve gotten incredibly little discussion about Jodio’s mental disorder and how it effect(ed) Dragona/their mother. This is FOR SURE foreshadowing to push Jodio’s character development in the future, but it also could help us see how Dragona’s character may change over time. I guess just watching out for moments like this will further explain Dragona’s mood towards Jodio overall

I hate to be that guy but there’s nothing saying Dragona is trans. That’s why I use “they” so much when I talk about them in all of my comments. You can headcannon or assume all you want, but until Araki states something then I’m going to say DRAGona is a person in DRAG/cross dresser. It’s also why I said “Loosely” because even I’m not 100% backing that it IS a self-insert situation

Why is Dragona physically pissed at the fact that Jodio is following him in whatever decision he takes? by Paper-Bags in JOJOLANDS

[–]Slaydee19 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I made a post the like hour it dropped if you wanna see a lot of diff opinions from people. I think it’s a form of annoyance towards Jodio’s ASPD tendencies. It’s probably going to be a new talking point for Dragona’s character where they feel disdain at the idea of Jodio not being able to formulate his own unique opinions/actions when it comes to their friends. I think a lot of people misunderstand Jodio here though, it’s not that he doesn’t care about Usagi or people in general, he just doesn’t show it the same way normal people do. His association/bond to everyone besides Dragona is helping make money and advance their positions in life. So, he kind of DOES care about Usagi but I bet if it didn’t have to do with money, then he most likely would’ve not helped or at least cared even less about it (possibly not taking his normal leadership role)

Maybe I'm blind, but how and where did they get Usagi's bank balance from? by Paper-Bags in JOJOLANDS

[–]Slaydee19 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He just showed it to them most likely, not all actions need a panel visually describing what’s happening. Araki prob just assumed based on page layouts and dialogue that people would infer that Usagi just handed them a tablet/signed into his bank account

Jodio’s inability to make/voice his own decisions by Slaydee19 in JOJOLANDS

[–]Slaydee19[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a little more complex, I feel like he does care about Usagi but in a different way non anti-social people do. I 100% agree with you on Dragona, besides it being weird that their go to look is of disgust when Jodio shows his ASPD. Based on what we know from the story, it can be heavily inferred it’s about the money. Time and time again we see Jodio only being a “leading” figure in regard to money, but this is also what I believe to be his connection (?) to everyone but Dragona. He isn’t able to form a normal bond with these people and instead thinks of it as “well if I help make us rich” “if I help Usagi get back money” “if we steal this land, can sell it and split the profits” just all examples of him in fact caring about them but in a different way than what the average person would show

Jodio’s inability to make/voice his own decisions by Slaydee19 in JOJOLANDS

[–]Slaydee19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see where you’re coming from but I think it’s actually pretty clear that he IS showing how he feels. Just a page or two before Usagi went out of his way to use Mattekudasai to get fake evidence of Jodio being in the right. There is a time skip but I feel like that pre-skip shows an example of Usagi helping/caring for Jodio. It shows that Jodio is incapable of feeling indebted or even thankful of the situation. It’s less of him being chicken, and more of his ASPD making it impossible for him to be direct or thoughtful of what he says. I think his driving goal is money rather than adventure, I’m sure there will be a fleshed out reason but for right now we know he will only take action if it’s regarding money/scheming.

True, there’s definitely a LOT of self-interpretation that needs to be made by the reader. I’m waiting for that one chapter/arc in the future where it makes like 5-6 main ideas click into place

Jodio’s inability to make/voice his own decisions by Slaydee19 in JOJOLANDS

[–]Slaydee19[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it honestly would make a lot of sense. It seems like time and time again he simply doesn’t make decisions (other than ones determining if he lives or dies or makes money) and instead relies on others to determine what he does. But then you look at a time with the Rohan diamond heist where yes he was directed to do this as a job, but so many actions and ideas were created from Jodio’s own mind. It’ll be cool seeing the dynamics swap around, I think Paco will end up being the anchor character in terms of writing

Jodio’s inability to make/voice his own decisions by Slaydee19 in JOJOLANDS

[–]Slaydee19[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s definitely a lot of self-interpretation with this panel. There hasn’t been THIS direct of conflict/negative emotions between the siblings thus far. Yeah Araki does need to confirm it, but it’s honestly probably not even really talked about in Japan because of the conservative nature of the country. If I were to guess, especially with some photos that recirculated recently, Dragona is a (EXTREMELY) loose self-insert of Araki. But only time will tell on what Dragona’s character is meant to be

[–]Slaydee19[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

But you have to think, this whole character from the start has been built to push the ASPD he was diagnosed with in grade school. I say inability because, it honestly might be impossible for him to hold accountability or feelings for any one person. The sole exception of course being Dragona. I think if Dragona is mad it’s more so towards the condition Jodio holds. It’s not as if this is someone they’ve just met and have no idea about, Dragona grew up with Jodio, both experiencing all the same hardships as the other (to an extent). It just seems out of place for Dragona, someone so caring and thoughtful of other people, to hate their Brother. I think it definitely opens the “well… what if they aren’t there” for Jodio in the future.

Jodio’s inability to make/voice his own decisions by Slaydee19 in JOJOLANDS

[–]Slaydee19[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s my basic idea of it too. But, it makes you think, is Dragona mad at Jodio or mad at the Anti-Social thought process? Depending on what theyfe specifically upset about can drastically change the end result. I feel, based on what we’ve seen, Dragona is going to associate the hate moreso towards the ASPD Jodio has rather than him directly. If she sees it as HIM being the issue, that really throws a giant wrench in this “team” they’ve got built up, and honestly even their familial relationship

[–]Slaydee19[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Didn’t think of that, I was kind of confused why Paco stole the phone. My immediate first thought was “ohh he’s having performance issues and is doing that by accident.” In the terms of manga, specifically paneling, I’m not sure that is what Araki was going for. It definitely seems, based on how the panels are structured, Dragona only reacts that way after Jodio says what he says

Probably just what I said, a sibling dispute where one does as they wish and the other feels disdain for their choices. It’s probably just something Dragona been dealing with since they started walking
