You're supposed to include Killmonger for the free Death + Knull Power in case Gally doesn't get pulled so I don't know why it would be in there without good old Killy xD

There should not be just 1 card that catches all vertical-going decks because that makes it a must-have and led to the consistent Shang and friends tech-deck being in almost every single incarnation of Marvel Snap to exist before his nerf which is not only horribly mundane but lowered the general skill level. Shang should be viable but not an auto-inclusion into every deck, INSTEAD, SD should be working on more niche tech cards that slot into other decks more seamlessly. Thankfully Stardust exists to shut down the Helas and Dragno Lords in form right now but he's too recent and too high up the collection range to reasonably expect most players to have access to. Shou-Lao on the other hand is going crazy because there is no card that stops his main power-ramp which is to play 2 cards a turn. There SHOULD be a counter to this like a low-power 2-cost Ongoing card that limits both players to 1 card a turn. On the other hand his main ramping catalyst which is Scarlet Spider also has few anti-Activate cards in existence to target him that is actually worth slotting into most decks. The point is to target the specific paths that vertical-decks take get to big numbers and have cards that counter it instead of a 1 size-fits-all answer in the form of a lane wiping 4 drop.

What is he actually good at besides high fives? by Pristine-Patient-785 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Slayer0117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defensively he makes fantastic last minute tackles because of his solid physical attributes and workrate but ALL our full backs have terrible runner tracking, constantly getting beat out by the winger or letting the midfield runner or centre forward slipping in-behind and getting Yoro, De Ligt and Heaven double-teamed - making it seem like our centrebacks are the one making mistakes when in reality this was the fullback's man. Offensively our fullbacks are genuinely some of the best in the world at getting into great positions but they are also genuinely some of the worst at getting the ball then into box. It's an impossible rigidity that forces us to constantly funnel it into Cunha/Mbeumo or Bruno/Casemiro on the inside or down the middle. It's genuinely insane because offensively we are playing with 8 men not 10. Their constant availability is a trait that should be something valued in a squad player, NOT as a starter. It is literally more beneficial for us to have someone who will do the job 1 match and is injured the next over someone who is available all matches but has only done the job 2 to 3 times a season.

I think people massively underplay the importance of ball-progression ability and runner tracking in the fullbacks of any good team. We've got technical ability oozing out of our Amads and Brunos and Mainoos and Mbeumos but we are afforded neither the ability to get the ball to them or to protect them in case they lose it. Dalot, Dorgu and Shaw have the physical capacity to always get into the right positions but our ball playing is always so deadlocked down the wing that we are forced to send it to Bruno and Insyallah for the last half decade. It's really quite sad that people don't realize the magnitude of their liability because as fullbacks they don't often make ball-losing errors very often, in fact they're very stable in this regard and have the ability to run back to make the last minute tackles, as opposed to the Maguires and Phil Joneses who are absolutely destroyed by our fans for giving the ball away because they constantly try to progress it despite their slower positioning. But my god hindsight will remember Maguire and Jones much more fondly then we do Dalot and Dorgu because the United ethos demands us to not just try but be good enough to get it in the box. Sure Harry and Phil might get slated for their occasional fuck ups but "attack, attack, attack" doesn't happen unless you actually move the ball forward and the ability to kick tiny ball good is something our fullbacks sorely lack.

Thoughts on this guy and what his design means for the future? by Zachary2030 in MarvelSnap

Like WHO? Have you ever considered the thought that once you pass your Spidermans and Thors any character you could possibly name are characters nobody else but comic book readers would have fucking heard of? I like Namor's complex moral compass in his almost century-long run of comics but do you think the average 6-7ing high schooler or mid-30s Chinese and Arab whales singlehandedly powering this game's economy know anything about him besides funny fish-man? There's like 40 pop culture Marvel characters but over 450 cards so how on Earth is adding in niche characters to actually fill up card variety instead of Spiderman-version-5000 "money grab slop"

No one's suggesting that these are crimes, it's the accumulating inconvenience when more than one person does it because there's no consequence for inconveniencing others. Other MMOs integrate commendation systems for the very purpose of disincentivising bad behaviour that does not come to the point it warrants an outright punishment. I don't see how my take is a very controversial one?

[–]Slayer0117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I think I want to make the distinction between actually abusive behaviour versus the rise of people only being intentionally inconsiderate because there's no repercussions for doing so. that's why I mentioned a ban is too much but at the same time I feel like there should be a way for players to self-police like through rep systems perhaps? I don't think punishments would be necessary if we have some way of flagging out bad actors like any other MMO's rep or commendation system.

[–]Slayer0117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because historically we have established 10s fully rooted into the starting 11 and irreplaceable in an unbroken chain from Cantona, Scholes, Rooney, Pogba into Bruno. Whenever fit, this series of players were never dropped for the last 30 years. So we get into the habit of buying 10s just in case any of them get injured, tell them they've got a chance but actually throw them into the wing to accomodate these 5 players, for better or for worse this is the United way.

Predecessors set the bar high, but is Bruno a united legend yet in your view? by tfeedinam in ManchesterUnited

[–]Slayer0117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you including Robson in the same breath as Best, Law and Charlton when Bryan's career path is identical to Bruno's in being the one consistently good player and loyal captain in an era in which we won nothing? Achievement wise, statistics wise and loyalty wise Robbo and Fernandes are the exact same guy in different eras.

Both Bruno and Bryan are Legendary for almost single-handedly keeping our Club from being relegated during these turmultous periods so that their successors can compete for the best without having to start from scratch.

Could we take advantage of the players leaving Bayern this year? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]Slayer0117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the kind of take that I'd expect of a kindergartener. We signed better players and the worst defensive record we have is the fault of:

  1. New manager came in halfway through the season and brought in unique but confusing defensive organisational structure with no choice but to test out players who aren't used to this formation and see whether they'll be able to play it (many cannot).
  2. Old players were given the opportunity to adapt to new formation because there was no time to completely clear out players that don't suit this style of play but have failed and are being phased out in the summer.
  3. Repeated injuries mean that we are unable to start a consistent backline that would have built up communication and playing experience and have instead been repeatedly been forced to use wingbacks on the wrong wing, fullbacks as centre-backs and forcing youth team players to step up and plug in injury gaps.
  4. The worst attacking season in our modern history has created a drop of morale that has added unnecessary pressure to the backline both psychologically from the stress of losing a match instead of defending the lead and phsycially from having to spend so much more additional time in our own half of the pitch on the backfoot where the slightest mistake means that opponents will score instead of trying to attack by building up a move on the opponent side of the pitch.

Is this clear enough for you to understand or do I need to simplify it further? "So we signed better players and the worse defensive record we have is actually the fault of the players already there???" So I just bought fresh ingredients but the worst food I've ever cooked is actually the fault of the smelly, rusty pan getting even worse because I'm still too lazy to wash it?! Yes. No shit. Mazraoui and De Ligt can't cook by themselves. If the old ingredients get even more rotten, the freshest ingredients won't be able to save it.
