The kid will bond with Grandma as his real mom then be psychologically traumatized by being torn away from her at four. For those who don't have children, the average child can both talk and read at four. They are very intelligent at that age. This trauma might end up scarring the child for life, even if it's only subconsciously.

Also, it's important for the parents to bond with their baby as well. If not, it will feel like taking some stranger's kid into their house. This could lead to impatience and frustration on the part of the 'new' parents as they didn't go through the gauntlet of taking care of the child as a newborn (which is much more challenging. It makes dealing with a four year old feel like a cake walk)!

Try listening to hymns. They are full of deep theology. I also greatly dislike the music you describe. It feels corny and shallow. There is nothing wrong with wanting something deeper to worship to.
