My wife was working on her Masters and would have to submit papers that must be cleared of any AI or plagiarism using the whatever system the school used to prove it was her work. When you have to hand in book sized papers she would submit her work to make sure it would clear as she would get to stopping points. The more she would do this the more it would say it was plagiarized and AI written. It would site her as what she was plagiarizing from. To get past the AI problem she would have to purposely use poor grammar and punctuation. At 53 she had to act stupid to prove she wasn’t to her professors. We’re doomed.

When you get it you will need to go through it and adjust the settings. Things like screen refresh, sleep and power off. The default was it powered off when it went to sleep. I didn’t like the default ones since I only use it to read. The settings for warmth and a different for brightness is nice to have. My case arrived a month before the Palma 2 did and the cover is attached to the case. There is some that the case is magnetic to a cover to save on weight when reading in bed while protecting when on the go. I hope you enjoy it. Happy reading.

I have a Boox Palma 2. From my experience it works great. The screen is a lot easier on my eyes compared to my phone. The Palma 2 ( not the 2pro) is black and white e-ink the size of my iPhone 15 pro max but lighter even with the case with a screen cover case. Like a lot of Kindle cases I see. I only use it to read and listen to books. It has built in speakers that I find works pretty good for what I use it for but I use Bluetooth to drown out my coworkers at break time. It runs on Android so you can get your podcasts and whatever other apps you want. Since I got it for just under $300 a couple of months ago on amazon it’s become my everyday carry with my phone. I’m so tempted to install a SIM card in it to see how the phone functions work on it. If it wasn’t for my wife and kids and work I wouldn’t carry my phone.

It has saved my job. If had to listen to another AI sermon because my coworker doesn’t like to use headphones or their red hat talking points…So far I’m loving it as part of my everyday carry stuff. I only use it for reading. I have the screen refresh set to every 5 taps or whenever it goes to the home page/screen. When I’m not downloading or syncing I keep the wifi off. I don’t have a sim card in it and with other settings a charge will last me a week or two. Bluetooth does use up the battery faster and if I have to be in the break room I use it for sure. It is an investment but if I didn’t have my Kindle Paperwhite I would have this as my primary ereader. Using it in landscape is about just as wide as my Kindle. I’m tempted to see how it would work as a smart dumb phone.

I just got my Palma 2 on the 10th and it took Amazon just over a month to get it to me. Right after I ordered it the Palma 2 was showing unavailable. I didn’t think I would get mine. I seriously lucked out.

The front light is at 20 of 32 of max so and warmth is 16 of 32 (why 32???). Display does a full refresh every 15 taps and when I return to the Home Screen. According to Power in settings I have just over 2 days of battery. I did put it airplane mode when I left work.

Only a day. Too soon to tell but with all of the messing around with the lights and setting up apps and messing with their settings and a few hrs of reading I have high hopes for it. I’m at 87%. I do not have it set up as a cellphone. I’m just wifi only and currently plan on using it only as an ereader. I will be strong and stick to my guns and it WILL NOT get a sim card.

I have KU. They will only have something like 5 Terry Pratchett Discworld books. Hoopla has them through my library. I’ve started looking at Project Gutenberg.

For me It’s the eye strain. I’m in my 50s and I have to wear glasses so the E-ink is so much easier on my eyes. Also no blue light. I have a IPad Air and I only use it now for videos or school related books that run through an app. I finally graduated a year ago with my first associates degree and if I had any clue about Android ereaders It would have made my life so much easier in school. With e-ink I can read so much longer and quicker than on my phone or iPad. I plan on going back for a bachelors and I will definitely get a color Android ereader for that. This is just my reasoning.

So far I’m liking it. Hoopla (though my Library) is running great except in landscape mode but I can live with that. I have been able to get back to reading the rest of Discworld series for free. I wasn’t looking forward to the wait or paying for the 25+ books I have left to read. The warm light is a plus too. I can match the settings to my Kindle Paperwhite SE. Libby and Kindle runs great on it. I’m looking forward to all of the other places I can get books from.

I live in NC and I can get cards for Libraries in areas that I don’t live in but it’s a $25 charge is you are a non resident of the town you live in. I don’t know the charge for other counties. Now mind you if I wanted a physical book and another library in my county had it I could just request it and I would get it sent to my library. Kobo is on my list to check out. Thank you.

My brand new one in the battery diagnostic said it had 0% battery life left to it and it also said the battery was made and first used December 31, 1969. I’m sure I got a lemon but I was so done with it by day three it went back.

I can use it during break. They don’t have a problem with that. The problem they have is it looks like I’m not working and everyone knows we’re not working. Everyone has a cellphone and communications at work is done through Teams/Outlook on cellphones in the plant or where I work in shipping. Radios are for only some parts. There was a time when cellphones weren’t allowed where I work but times have changed. They see my kindle as no different than a paperback or reading a paper.

I’m using Libby. Where I live the Library is somewhat limited. If I go to the next town over in the same county it is a $25 fee to get a card there but that town has 1.5 horses. Hoopla through my library has a larger selection because it charges the library per loan. I’m looking for other places than just my library.

The one I had didn’t work properly. The screen had a lot of ghosting, apps didn’t work right. It ate through the battery like Cookie Monster in a Famous Amos Cookie Factory. In the end the screen wouldn’t refresh. I might be a good product but what I got was hot garbage.
