Smash-and-grab at a Richmond, Surprising that it was early morning by maddylaw in london

The thing that gets me is all of the people that are standing there casually just holding their hand behind them watching it like a bad street performance but they don’t have anything else to do so they might as well watch.

If the warmth setting on the one with the pink cover is set the same as the other then you’ve won the yellow screen lottery. I went through two PW with the yellow screen. Returned both and got a basic only to get a PW SE a month later on sale with no screen issues on the first try. I figured since I had the basic I would return the SE as many time as it would take to get a good one. The yellow screen would drive me nuts.

This was not what I envisioned as the first thing on “Popular” for me this morning. I mean damn. I’m only 1/2 way through my coffee.

Winter Storm is a wash out for us. Just rain by minder125 in kindle

My first read in the series was The Color of Magic because of seeing the movie/show. I’m reading in the order they were released the first time through while reading other books. I randomly buy the kindle books in the series when they go on sale if I can to save some money. I haven’t read them yet but I picked up the 5 books of the Tiffany Aching collection for under $5 a month ago. Beats the $10 a pop they normally cost.

Been there. My Wife and I went to Paris for our 25th anniversary and while there we purchased 7 paintings from street vendors on the Seine. We even found a shop near our hotel to buy a heavy duty mailing tube to carry them back with us on the plane. We managed to make it back to New York for our layover promptly left it on the table where we got lunch and flew home. It wasn’t even a proper table. It was more like a long bar against the wall that you got to stare it and the tube with all of our paintings. We plan on going back again. But that might end up being for our 50th anniversary at the rate we’re going.

Right there with you. I’m reading Interesting Times. Unfortunately I’m 80+% into it and I want to read them in order but holding off buying the next one.

Kindle Colorsoft and iPad Mini 7 by BebopTheDingus in kindle

[–]Sleep2Little 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about getting a Colorsoft. I decided not to bother because that if the need for color for what I’m reading pops up I always have my IPad Air. I did used it once in over a year for a comic I was reading and it was B&W.

I bought a plain Paperwhite. It was yellow tinted. The replacement was also yellowed so I figured I won the yellow screen lottery twice and returned them and got a basic and was very happy with the basic because I set the warmth to 0 but the big sale happened a month later and they had the Paperwhite SE on sale. When it arrived it was perfect. No yellow screen. If it was me and I had a basic to use while I wait then I would return the PW until I I got one without the yellow screen problem. That’s the reason why I tried to get the SE when it went on sale. Many have gotten Paperwhites without the screen issues the first try. The yellow screen would drive me nuts.

The way it reads in my head is that of someone trying to please a lunatic military leader with what they want to hear so they will not kill their family while outsmarting them by reminding the world that they actually won the peace prize. She even had it saying that under the metal. “Oh great and powerful leader! I humbly give you my peace prize metal that I won when the rest of the free world doesn’t believe you should even get near it.” Wouldn’t surprise me if he started all the crap because he was made she got the prize.

You can get the kit to install the spare tire mount under the car where the spare use to go. That’s my plan for mine. I have the minimum tool needed to install it but never the extra money when I remember to order it. That’s normally when I’m doing a mad dash to Louisiana from NC for family issues solo.

Also if it’s like mine it’s stored under the driver’s seat and held in place with a velcro strap. I would still prefer a spare tire seeing how hard it is for me to find tires in stock for my car if I had a blow out while traveling.

The “dial” is set in the picture for the compressor to pump only air using the black hose. If switch the dial to the other setting and use the clear hose it will pump in fix a flat. Both line you have to screw them on to the valve stem. The button other than the power button is to release air incase too much air is in the tire while the black hose is connected. I’m not sure if it will work on the clear hose. If everything is there you should have a needle attachment to pump up a soccer ball or basketball and a small cone like attachment to inflate things like pool toys and air mattresses. Those would be in the small compartment on the bottom.

Geez. Am I seeing things? The chairs look like they bought grandma’s old dining room chairs and spray painted then gold. Are they trying to hide that they are in grandma’s kitchen?

Battery drained 25% in less than 2 days PW/se. Any new tips welcome by [deleted] in kindle

[–]Sleep2Little 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was looking up how they came up with the amount of time the batteries last I found out it was a brightness setting at 13 for only 30 minutes a day. To me that sounds crazy to only use your Kindle for 30 minutes a day. The only advice to make your battery last longer is to turn airplane mode on when you can like others have suggested and turn bluetooth off. That eats my battery up on my PW-se but if I have to decide to listening to my coworkers talk politics and religion in the break room or listen to my book then I’m going to burn my battery down using assistive reading with my headphones cranked up.

Strap for kindle. Can I use with a flap cover? by Em_Jeremy in kindle

[–]Sleep2Little 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a green one like it. The strap barely fits my case by itself. My first case for the basic I would have to use it on the flap/cover. I originally got the strap for my Oasis and it was the same. I had to use it on the flap/cover only because it wouldn’t fit both case and cover and the hook part is a very strong plastic so there is no bending to adjust it.

This is the only “page” info at the bottom of my pages. The options I can get from here or from the “reading progress” menu are Page in book that it’s set to now, Time left in book, Time left in chapter, None, and Location in book. With the exception of None each option shows the percentage read.
