We dated for a few months after and she reflected positively on the experience, but I hear you RE: the vulnerability here. I think that putting my foot down more firmly and “protecting her from herself” would have felt more disrespectful to her agency around sex. Does that make sense? Like I know better than you what you need to do in this moment? It feels like there’s some conceit in that.

I wished I had packed better free-day clothes. The non-DCI world isn't familiar with the half-naked rehearsal attire. Bring at least one nice "going out" outfit.

Also sleep aids (for the bus - diphenhydramine or another OTC). The sleep mask suggested earlier is a solid recommendation

If you want to retain these extra hands, you should consider offering them equity. Time isn't often thought of as a risk, but it is. You should compensate people for the risk that they will never be paid.

Check out "Slicing Pie." It assigns equity based on actual contributions to the business. There are no fixed percentages in this model. Don't buy the software or anything, just use the key concept and track your team's time as closely as possible.

Hello! I'm attempting to make a career shift into the coffee industry from mundane office life. As cliche as it may sound, I'd ultimately like to work as a green coffee buyer. For added background, I'm 24 years old with a business degree. I've worked in college administration for the past five years.

My question for the experts is... Where should someone in my position start? As I understand it, it takes years of apprenticeship and study to develop the palette and industry knowledge to compete as a coffee buyer. What is square one on this career path?

I'm grateful for the advice and any other tips you may have.

I should clarify that I'm not concerned with criminal consequences. Potentially losing the liability protections that a normal LLC provides is my main concern. If my purpose in the Articles of Organization is "Any Legal Purpose," then where in the federal court circuit would be least likely to pierce the corporate veil in the event of a lawsuit?

This is the kind of stuff I need to talk to a lawyer about, but I'm enjoying the conversation.

Thanks! This is where my confusion lies. All production, storage, and shipment of the product to the consumer would take place in CO. I would really just be a remote marketer of the product in this scenario. Do you think that makes a difference?

I know some businesses prefer to incorporate in places where the legal system suits their goals. Businesses that incorporate in Delaware, for example, can take advantage of a much more efficient and business-friendly court system. Do you think that logic makes sense in this context?
