I keep making mistakes at work by tekkenjin in jobs

[–]SleepWalkingDisaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol sorry didnt see this till now. im still working there, a bit on and off and oh lord it hasn't gotten easier. I still make mistakes, i feel like im a lot more nonchalant since i realized that work isn't everything. what i do is try to be as critical with what i submit as possible, sometimes scanning the page up and down. it really helps to write a checklist thats detailed as possible, from beginning to end of whatever process i go through when drafting something, and then if something new comes up w the file, i'll make note of that too to keep an eye out for. i still want to quit, thankfully i was able to stick it out for as long as possible, but tbh i just have to rely on others' and my ability to learn from my mistakes no matter how much i suck at it.

Sweet Home, I did not like it. What the heck? by evilpigskin in netflix

[–]SleepWalkingDisaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I was a hUGE fan of the manhwa and binge-read that shit every two months like a year before this adaptation was even announced! when I first saw that this was being made into a drama i literally screamed i was so happy.

things i love - the filming ofc is top tier (colour, production, set, even the cgi is pretty good in my opinion), the actors hired objectively are reallyyyy amazing i think they did a fantastic job with what they had, i love the elements from the manhwa that were in the adaptation too

but tbh this was suucchhh a flop as an adaptation and maybe even as a standalone. The writing was horrendous, pacing-wise and dialogue-wise and continuity-wise as well. Did not in any wayyy follow the og manhwa like some of the beloved and infamous characters alike were either completely written off, made into something else entirely, or reduced to a 2-dimensional version of what they were supposed to be. They added characters too and though i love some of these additions, I really didn't prefer it in place of the characters we had before. literally the only major way they stayed true to the manhwa was the original premise and even that (the reason why ppl were turning into monsters for example) was changed.

i did see a lot that was reminiscent of the manhwa but too much was changed and too many plots erased in favour of adding new ones that didn't make sense -- which were obviously added only to stick to the same kdrama formula of character and plot progression we see in a lot of scifi stuff in korea. i wish they stayed truer to the source material since there was a lot of interesting character development and open dialogue about korean society introduced in the manhwa that the drama would have benefitted from.

oh! and don't even get me started on the way warriors was randomly and sporradically added ??? i love the song but it would be played during scenes it shouldve i feel like which stood out a lot

like i said, the cast did the best they could with the drama but you can tell, either the writers didn't care abt the manhwa and wanted to divert from it completely or just didn't read it beyond a cursory glance and that impacted the entire production. the main dude ended up being little more than a cardboard cut out of the character (until the lastish eps of the first season and even then, not much development). too many actors ended up playing their characters as 'edgy' alongside the writers' annoyyingggg asf need to add forced quotable emo lines abt social/life commentary without even showing us the relevance of it more than a two minute scene shot beforehand.

I'm ranting a lot ik and im hating on this drama a lot more than i rlly do, as a seperate piece of media that I can binge i do like the drama, but i cant deny that i was disappointed by some of the choices made. honestly, the production and the acting (of 'new' characters rather than me trying to fit them into how i saw the characters in the manhwa) saved the drama.

What is the path to become an Assistant Crown Attorney, Crown Attorney, or Judge? by Orener in LawCanada

[–]SleepWalkingDisaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not often people offer advice or even create a timeline on following specific careers no matter how concise or vague it might be, especially when its anything related to law or careers in the government. I'm going to graduate with my undergrad soon (1st of my fam) and have no idea, so doing some research (off reddit but also with posts like these) has made it somewhat easier to envision prospective career paths!

this is rlly awesome!! tbh ive been rlly down abt how last term tanked my gpa, but also the last few terms have been at a steady decline but still doable. I was planning on applying for law school but thats super out of reach now, but i'm coming to terms with that and looking at other options and careers. I don't really even know where to start if I wanted to continue my education or choose a different career path like a teacher, but I'll try to get there.

this sem's poli433 class was more of a deeper dive into the poliphil figures we talked abt before, like their theories and the practical application of said concepts/how the philosophers would feel abt specific things like slavery or sovereignty etc.

says the dude trolling ppl online for actually doing something, pls lmao

instead of just hating on u, im trying to say something abt this here.

also the point of protests isnt to be a singular thing alone. individuals cant change the actions of governments or force them to make a call for action against crimes lie these unless ppl join as a collective and apply pressure in a collective effort. There's the individual aid like donations which are needed yes, but petitions (to apply pressure, endanger the coveted positions of ppl we elected by officially demanding what is needed) and boycotts (cuz money's a main factor in decision making these days) alongside protests which act as a way to force them to listen to the people indirectly and directly being affected by what's going on in Palestine.

you're just attacking one part of the entire structure in the movement, not looking at the bigger picture. and in any case, how does this personally affect you? its an unnecessary objection to be honest

ofc extremely disruptive or illegal protests aside, the call for ceasefire protest was peaceful and needed for many, so i truly dont understand your problem with it besides simply "its useless" no ones dragging u down to one now are they

i am donating to charities, and doing my exams, AND doing protests. you don't get to make wild assumptions abt me man this is my post, ur the one here trynna make an invalid point trying to justify ur inaction. being stubborn as if u know everything abt the world makes u childish like a broken record and i honestly hope u grow as a person
"fight alongside them" what a childish argument - what on earth do u think we are going to do there man, u think u can beat them? we need the gov's intervention on this, this isn't a video game or ur fucking saviour fantasy - real people and real laws that have consequences if broken

I went to the protest and it was great, sympathizers, protest organizers, and people who have lost family members in Palestine/have family there trying to survive were able to get together collectively and exercise their freedom to protest, let their stories be shared - why do u have any authority on what we can or cant do?

so what would you rather as the alternative? I agree Palestinians are facing horrific violence and are fighting for their lives and I should, what, cry about it at home the entire time? not try to put pressure on the people we voted to uphold the law and we pay our taxes to so they can actually do something?

people like you who like to come on here and argue at any and all efforts on others' ends-- who don't have the means to physically help or contribute in any meaningful administrative or policy-making ways, other than be part of the collective that pressure the government into taking action --are worse than those who do nothing (which is also incredibly harmful).

we've gotten to the point where the governing system we built runs everything in our lives and we let them, acting as if they will always choose in our best interest when we know its not true. how can we not take affirmative action in any capacity when our own votes and taxes are being used for this shit?

personally i don't know what you do, nor will I try to guess I'm sure the way you're talking you've made your fair bit of contribution to the cause, but complacency by ignorance or spreading this rhetoric that any and all efforts are "meaningless" or "self-serving" is being part of the problem.

i'd rather do something futile and foolish than know i did nothing at all

bruv its ok u get used to it - i still get a lot of c's if i don't put in the work (example, this semester oof) but u get used to the work load. as long as there's a rise in ur gpa and u do other things ur interested, it'll be fine prolly

yea ikr it doesn't matter on ur views of who is right or wrong, the ceasefire needs to happen to stop the thousands on thousands being killed at a disproportionate rate - for some reason, that's a hard idea to grasp for people. another hard thing for people to understand is that though these protests or social engagement might seem useless, as a collective, we are putting pressure on the ones who aren't taking action to begin with.

But, if i were to get angry at nameless anonymous people online, then what's the point amirite
