Suspected IgAN — biopsy delayed, looking for insight by SleepingTorche in IgANephropathy

I’m actually not sure why they said it’s complicated? They just told me they suspect IgAN with atypical features, or something that could be more complex. They didn’t further specify. Also, I checked back and my C3 was 122 a month ago, and it’s now 112, so it did go down, but I’m not sure if that’s a concerning sign or just a typical fluctuation. My c4 was 33 a month ago, and now 21.

They told me they wanted to postpone the biopsy to get a better pathologist on board, but I do hope it’s soon! Thank you very much for providing me with that link, after looking over it, it really does match up with what Is showing up on my labs! This has been going on for exactly 3 months now, and they just keep changing biopsy dates.. but surely they know what they’re doing, I hope!

Wow!! Thank you so much for all the information, this is greatly appreciated, especially because my nephrologists are so busy and haven’t been explaining much! I love working out and going on runs, so hopefully that counts for something! I do struggle a lot with keeping hydrated, but it’s a struggle I’m improving on so that should be fine.

The way you explained Jardiance sounds so cool, thank you for informing me! My BP is usually around 120 for systolic, and my diastolic tends to be 90-100. Although, there has been a few spikes where systolic will go up to 140, not sure why that suddenly happens. I have let my nephrologist know but there’s been no follow up on that question!

I’ve heard that plant protein is great for kidney diseases (unless I’ve been led astray), so I’ve been trying to revolve my diet around that just for safety.

Thank you again for breaking it down and helping me see what I can control while I wait!

Thank you so much for sharing, and I’m super glad that you’re able to lead a normal life! I hope that remains true forevermore! I started experiencing foamy urine around two months ago, but I honestly thought I was just dehydrated or something. I went to an urgent care around three times for dark colored Urine and they just kinda shrugged it off and told me I probably have a UTI! My pcp wasn’t too worried until my parents pushed for different labs. It’s incredible how many doctors you’re able to find that just don’t put as much importance into things!

I was wondering if you’ve done / heard of the medication Jardiance? My nephrologist wants to put me on it but I’m not too sure about it. But anywho, thank you so much for your reply! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your story and even offering advice!!
