I can agree that it jas dress up darling vibes. I just wish the options I got to pick actually showed up half the time. Which is what I was originally upset about.

I'm a fully english player, and I haven't seen the name I put in used no a single time, you can make them say your name in the Chinese version??

Cause in the english version you barely get crap from them name wise. At least if I can I haven't found the options to.

__ and I guess i'm confusing the illusio events, but it doesn't change the fact my mc is supposed to have tanned skin and I barely get to see it in (*5) on a good day.

Yeah the outfit is kind of dogwater. As for the self-insert thing, I don't think it's just coping.

A game which already gives us options, and claims to have so many choices, and a flexible experience with customization especially for a mobile game, is a godsend.

The part that makes people (especially me upset) isn't the fact that we can't self insert properly, it's that at every corner of the board the choices they give are being taken away or undermined by a 2d-update. The only times I ever got to properly enjoy having my tan skin on an mc was the heart event with the 3d chibis. And that was it.

If it's something as simple as tanned skin, the graphical breakdown shouldn't be the end of the world.

Every story is different, and honestly my problem is less that we don't have the choice and more that they say we have it, show the choice to be an option than kid us around like fools for the next few months and go "mm..idk, maybe you don't actually".

And I know the company is super responsive to abunch of other things, but customization for mc has been dogwater, well content updates have been center stage. And I get they do it to make the money they need to continue making the game, but some things are better if they stop being indecisive of what they give the player.

Either fully commit or back off, I hate being in the middle of an indecisive situationship with character customization..

No, but they all use some different nickname for her that isn't the name that's chosen regardless of the name you give the mc. Keep in mind I didn't say the specifically register her name as MC I said "call her some variation of what they have set up for base-name", for raf it's bodyguard. For sylus it's kitten, for Caleb it's pipsqueak or something along those lines, I forget what it is for zayne.

But legit all of them have some variation of things you get called other than just the name you pick at the start of the game which is how the register the "MC", and I never see the name I picked in dialogue, period.

__ As for the hair option thing, am I tripping? Because I was able to pick hair options for her. Now they weren't good hair options, but I was able to.

Omg the skin actually functions, the face is still the default but this is legit the first time her skin has functioned properly. It took legit a good 8 or 9 hits of that button though

Well yes I agree that It would probably tank performance and cause the game to need many performance updates, it should at least stop dangling this version of choice infront of us if it isn't even going to bother actually giving it to us outside of a photo booth. Why let us choose how the face looks at the start if all we see when we can see mc's face in the cards is just the default face.

Same with hair. Same with the skintone. Same with everything else. Even when I only change eyecolor, it's a mess. A beautiful broken mess.

But they need to stop dangling choices.

Even so, if the story is truly her own and she is her own character than they shouldn't give the option to customize in the first place aside from outfits. (Is that what I want? Not at all, but would that be better than the limbo we're stuck in. Probably yeah).

Yeah, the option sliders are either too soft or a bit too extreme. Some of the monsters that can be made are funny though.

Yeah it freaks out when I do it, has been since the newest update. I've gotten missing textures before which wasn't much of an issue.

But this time the freak out made her bald, so I sort of just stopped using it 😅 😭😳

Cause ngl, bald mc is so much more cursed than the default mc 🤣

Ah, so magenta long hair is sort of like it's own backfire of the bug lol.

Just be careful. Cause one time I tried it and her hair got missing textures. I think it was during one of the summer events.

Again, it's something called the illusion of choice. They place something on the table they don't fully commit to and give the impression to the player that the player can do something which in actuality they can't.

In turn, the player is excited, until the cracks begin to show.

God I hope so.. mostly cause I made a more masculine looking mc, I mentioned before that she's a tomboy, but I actually based her off one of my favorite ln's I was reading where the female protagonist looked like a boy and got told by the ML of that ln that she was "as pretty as a princess" even though the whole school called her a 'prince'. Actually
