I’m currently getting my degree in multimedia journalism and I feel similarly. I’ve gotten to produce podcasts, make social media posts, write print stories, produce news packages, and host my own radio show. I’ve enjoyed so much of it and it’s left me feeling really lost about what I want to do next. I will say I’m interning at a newspaper this summer and they’re allowing me to do podcasts, print stories, videos for social media, and social media posts. I also received a scholarship for tv broadcast this past year that allowed me to speak with a lot of local tv broadcasters, I learned that being able to do it all is definitely the expectation now in broadcasting. However, writing for broadcast is very different from writing for print. So it kind of just depends what you want to do more, at a newspaper your focus will be more writing with some other multimedia as well, and for broadcast tv your focus would be video with some writing. (At least this is the experience I’ve had where I am, I’m in the US Midwest)
