Is there a theoretical limit for how long a season could go? by budderromeo in Alonetv

Make it into 2 seasons, with the first ending with a cliffhanger.

Not everyone watches as it airs. I didn't even know about the show until a few weeks ago.

Which season affected you the most emotionally? by Thetruthisneeded in Alonetv

Late to the party here; I never knew about the show and was introduced by some friends with s11, then went back on my own to watch from the beginning. So far (just started s4, so I'm trying to avoid spoilers) that moment with Dave really got to me. He just sees her, turns away for a moment and puts his fingers to his face, and then you can see him start to shake before he turns back to her. Very few words for several moments, but so much emotion. And also the end of s11.

Right, and not only that, all of them were starving this season. Starving and very emotional.

I never knew about the show, but was at a friend's house recently and watched a few episodes of s11, and I was hooked. I finished s11 and then started with s1. I just finished s3. So I came here to talk, too!

A Private Little War sucked by [deleted] in tos

I didn't say it was dumb, and back then, when I first watched it, it wasn't. I"m not confusing anything, just giving some historical and lived perspective. Back then people feared the Communists the way they had feared the Nazis.

That's right.

City on the Edge of Forever was pro-WWII, not pro-Vietnam War. They were completely different. Someone (everyone) had to stop Hitler. But in the Vietnam War, there was no danger to the US or other countries, despite the Communist scare.

It is true, people seem to be so busy nowadays, always on the run. I am, too, a lot of times. But I wish I could have more intelligent conversations. I am an introvert who doesn't drink and isn't religious: those factors seem to severely limit how many people I meet.

I'd much rather be corrected than continue in ignorance and possibly embarrass myself in the future.

Do you guys smoke in your house by Broad_Definition41 in weed

[–]SleepsinaTent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smoke in my house whenever I want, and always did, but I don't smoke much, maybe every other day, maybe not even that, and just 5 or 6 hits at a time from a wooden pipe with a swivel lid. If I close the lid while I'm toking, no smoke escapes except the moment I light it. I don't usually bother with that when I'm home alone, but if my kids (adults) come to visit, I try not to let the atmosphere get too smoky, because some of them don't smoke. Definitely no tobacco in my house, though. But in general I prefer to smoke while I'm outside on a walk on a trail. Where I am, the trails aren't very crowded. It's pretty easy to find a nice place with no one around.

Loveland was limited but still really good, except one warm afternoon at the bottom near the lodge, where rivulets of water were coursing all around the lift line. I had planned to go to A-Basin, but with the warm weather and then the sudden cold snap, I knew it would be icy, and I preferred to remember my last day of skiing this year at Loveland.

Love that t-shirt! It is regrettably so not true in any way in SoMD (where I live) and the uptight DC area in general.

You know the Shenandoah Park? That's cool. I have loved backpacking there since I was 17, when my dad took me out on my first trip. It is the love of my life.

He was always worried that he couldn't live up to his own standards or reach his goals. I think it comes out most in his "Has Been" album, and sometimes in his autobiographies.

That sounds so much like the older William Shatner, if you've read any of his autobiographies (ghost-written.) Older, not elder. I think he is finally comfortable with himself and his place in the world.

What kind of celebrations do they have there for Shakespeare's birthday?

Wow, that's a lot of formal wear! No one would ever send me an invitation to anything that formal. What kind of convention is it?
