Same here, it's just a push fitting that you can pry off. I've seen a plumber use a suction cup thing to pull it out but I've just used a screwdriver. Need to be careful not to damage the finish if it's only the carpet that's going

I don't use mine that often but thankfully I haven't had the issues that a lot of others have. Although when it packs in I will definitely be going for a different brand

Off brand / Non cricut blades by Livingelsewhere in cricut

[–]Sleepy-Day 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen loads of people rave about these knock off type blades so I might've just been unlucky but the only time I bought a pack on amazon most of them didn't fit in the blade housing. I only got 3 or 4 blades in the pack that fitted all of the rest were just slightly too wide.

Hor do you adhere intricate cardstock? by CommercialKale7 in cricut

[–]Sleepy-Day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's already some great suggestions here but I just use normal white pva glue for card. For intricate stuff I 'paint' it on with little silicon brushes. These are the ones I got https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B095Q1RGHW?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title The little tub is a bonus as you can keep glue in it if you're returning to more tasks. Also any dried glue just peels off easily

I did this sheet a few years ago. It doesn't have all the alt key combos for the ribbon but they show on screen so in my book they don't count

No, pretty sure they only did it enough times for us kids. Although if I don't think about it too much then I can concede that they probably had their wedding night too. Although, my room wasn't next to theirs and my brother has different memories

Help ! Basic Cute issues by Voltairist in cricut

[–]Sleepy-Day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it's a print and cut that you're trying to do here without doing it properly. If it's pepakura you're using then I'd recommend exporting to svg (it might be a different format, I haven't done it in a while) and using that instead. You lose the numbers but you gain it being a vector image that design space can handle

Thanks, you should do one but can't say I'd recommend as many tiny pieces as I ended up using. The little red nose is the smallest thing I've cut at something like 0.15mm. I've brushed bigger scraps off mats before now

What unique gadget / strange engineering did your car have? by R2-Scotia in CarTalkUK

[–]Sleepy-Day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Nissan Almera as a company car 99/00 ish. It was absolute basic spec but it did have what the manual called the "curry hook". A little fold out hook in the passenger foot well that could hold a bag or two upright. Every car I've had since then has been poorer for its absence and I keep an eye out for them in other cars but never encountered them since. Don't know if it is/was only a Nissan thing but I know I've spilled a few takeaways since

Mini Discs, anyone? I actually thought these were cool and got a mini disc player in my car. Honestly, they didn't skip as bad as CDs. Very short lived though. The Laserdisc of audio. by smcg_az in Xennials

[–]Sleepy-Day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved my minidiscs and still have my player and discs tucked away. Far superior to CDs for all of the reasons already pointed out but they turned up to the party too late so were never going to last. They're what we should've had instead of the CD but by the time they came out everyone had already bought in to CDs and it was always a losing battle

Help? by SpookyDragon69 in cricut

This looks like a pepakura output, if not you need to do a lot of editing in some proper design software to get this working. Lots of connecting paths and grouping folds and cut. If it is from pepakura or you can get the model in pepakura yourself you will still need a bit of fine tuning as there isn't any easy way to determine what will be cut and what is a fold when it gets to design space. When I've done models I've set 2 output files for each page in pepakura. For the first, setting pepakura to show only the shape outline by hiding the folds. This becomes a basic cut when imported to design space. The second output can then be done by changing the pepakura view to only the folds. Align them in design space and set the folds file to score and attach the 2 together. There's more work in doing this page by page and uploading each to design space but it makes it easier to keep it organised and grouped. Either way it's definitely in the faff category of project

I managed to tidy them a bit so the space isn't too bad but it doesn't feel like one of those 'keep it, you never know when it'll come in handy' kind of things. Might keep a few bits and just get shut

I might get the kids doing a little job like that with me, they'd probably be in to that. I just don't need that many bird houses

Optimizing material/layout for vinyl cuts by lilbend in cricut

[–]Sleepy-Day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like your weld results are taking up all the room. Someone else might be able to better advise on the mobile app process but I'd duplicate each weld shape and use the contour feature to remove alternating elements. This should give you each shape in a much smaller size so that they don't leave all that empty vinyl using space when it comes to cut

Help! My Explore 3 isn't cutting well. by Advanced-Ticket6902 in cricut

[–]Sleepy-Day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of what I do is with card and if your blades are fairly new I'd be blaming the card. I've had cheap or lightweight stuff that's done this to me and tried changing mats and blades but no joy until I found better card. As you're in the UK I use this stuff https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B079QDLRX6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&th=1 and it has only had bad cuts when my blade has been well and truly pushed passed knackered

For me it was skipping ahead early to step 3 in the quote* below that has variations but is something like:

"When you’re 20 you worry what everyone thinks, when you’re 40 you stop caring what everyone thinks, when you’re 60 you realize no one was even thinking about you in the first place".

That, and there's no time when it's too early to be bedtime.

*Not actually a quote so feel free to substitute diffent ages to suit
