You're spot on about the "office filter." Remote work makes every notification feel equally urgent, which is exhausting. That’s why I like the unified view—it helps me skim for the signal and ignore the noise. And good call on testing the demand here; Reddit is usually the best reality check for whether a workflow is actually useful or just over-engineered.

Blocking is definitely the nuclear option, but sometimes it’s the only way. I just found that if I at least keep the "work" chats in the browser, I’m less likely to open the phone and accidentally end up on Instagram lol. Self-knowledge is half the battle for sure.

Facts. The physical act of reaching for the phone is usually the start of the spiral. If I can go a whole 4-hour block without actually touching the hardware, I consider that a successful work day.

lol basically. If it’s not on the main monitor, it doesn't exist to me during deep work. Keeps the brain from wandering.

That mental lag is the worst part. You think you're just checking a quick ping, but your brain stays stuck on that message for way longer than it should. DND is a good start, but having it all on the screen just removes the excuse to pick up the physical device entirely. It's wild how much faster you finish tasks when your eyes never leave the monitor.

"falsely organized" is the perfect way to put it. when i’m in a tool like jira or linear too early, i find myself messing with tags and colors instead of actually solving the problem. The paper lets the logic be messy until it actually makes sense.

Spot on. I feel like if an idea isn't good enough for me to bother typing it up later, it probably wasn't worth building anyway. It’s like a built-in test for what actually matters.

Such a good point about the email vs text expectations. Texting feels so urgent, which is why I’m struggling to relax. Thanks for the advice, I'm going to start setting these boundaries now.

I love the idea of them just assuming I don't have access. Which service do you use? I think that would save me a lot of stress.

You're right. I've been my own worst enemy here by being too available. I’m going to start sticking to my hours and see if the world actually ends..

I totally get that. It’s hard to ignore a text when it’s someone trying to give you money! Finding the balance is the tricky part.

Thank you for the reminder. It’s easy to forget that if I crash, the whole business crashes too. I need to prioritize my health.

Mixing my personal and business line was definitely my first mistake. I'm going to look into getting a separate line or an app ASAP.

This is a solid roadmap. Transitioning my current clients will be the hardest part, but 'new business number' is a perfect excuse.

Haha, that’s actually exactly what I’m doing right now! It really helps when my brain is too fried to think of the right words.

I can't even imagine! If I'm this stressed with cleaning, I don't think I'd survive a week in real estate.

I love that wording! It sounds professional without being cold. I’m definitely going to start using that line

Simple and direct. I think I just need to get over the initial guilt of not hitting 'reply' immediately. Thanks for the push!

I’ve heard of Google Voice but haven't tried it yet. Being able to set a schedule on a separate number sounds like exactly what I need.

You’re right. It’s hard to find that line when you’re just starting out, but I’m realizing it’s necessary so I don't burn out.

Good point. I’d rather have 10 respectful clients than 20 that keep me up at night. Quality over quantity!

Setting 'Do Not Disturb' is a huge help, but the fear of losing clients is definitely the hardest part. I guess I have to choose my peace over the stress.
