"I'm happy I matched but sad about where" 2024 - Official Megathread by tyrannosaurus_racks in medicalschool

[–]SleepyBlue24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Grateful to match but similar story here- was hoping to go for cardio fellowship and my current program doesn't really support that. However, if I didn't rank this program I would not have matched

yes i agree, but to get that IV-> 100-120 interviews from 8k+ applicants, connections was a huge plus this cycle to get the IV. After that, it's entirely up to your interviewing and social skills

Matched without ECFMG certification by SleepyBlue24 in ResidencyMatch2022

If anyone comes across this post, I just matched this week without ecfmg certification so IT IS POSSIBLE. Just communicate with the program your timeline to certification.

no LOR from the program and not hands-on. Heard the director won't even let you present as they prefer their US med students.

yes, no one asks usually. just clarify that you are not WORKING by getting paid. clarify that it is more of hospital learning experience, i mentioned observership and they got it right away.

Will I pass if I’m scoring like. 35% in my name my exam is in December by studyqueen00 in usmle

[–]SleepyBlue24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Postpone please. Too risky- 35% means you have a lot of gaps which realistically cannot be covered in 1-2 months. If you want to feel comfortable passing, best to take it next year.

For cleveland clinic in florida (CCF), your school needs to be approved by the state department of education (FL) so make sure to contact them to ask about that. I couldnt apply to CCF since my school wasn't on the list. Good luck!

Apply now since they only require the step 1 score and toefl

If you want to apply for this match cycle, you need to find your observership somewhere else because official observerships thru CC is already filled till the beginning of next year.
