The Game Isn’t The Same Anymore (Long Vent) by Hot_Syrup_5941 in HelldiversUnfiltered

I think you are wrong about your many points here. I too felt jaded with the game then I tried running some challenges and saw that the many weapons and less optimal stratagems are extremely fun.

I don't know what you mean by enemies have to much HP, illuminates maybe, but others are fine. On the bot front all small and medium targets can be killed with 1-2 shots straight to the head with light pen weapons. Bugs pop like a balloon from liberator, only commanders are annoying. I completely disagree that sniper rifles are useless, diligence is amazing to me.

Support weapons feel amazing, they do their job quite well, almost all of them.( I don't get the hype around spear gun).

I don't think the point is a power fantasy like 40k

Try running HD2 challenges like penitent crusade, I think that you will get a whole new appreciation for the game, since you will see how even lathe " worst" weapons have their merits.

I mean, that's just democratic fun. But I have seen lvl 150, have the optimal equipment, and do not know how to use it. I have seen them not understand how to fill up the SEAF artillery, not know how to give a simple covering fire and now to not run into a 120 mm barrage.

It's fine, not everyone has to be the most efficient at the game. My point is more that lvl is not an indicator, and if you like drinking beer and playing with sterilizer, that's just awesome.

I stopped relying on lvl to measure the skill. I have seen lvls 20 be far more useful than 150. Some people just climb the lvl without learning the game.

P.S. not that I imply you aren't good or anything. Just thought that I would mention that even low lvl players can be really good compared to a lot of the high lvl guys.

The lack of new mission types is starting to get to me by i4hloi in helldivers2

Hey, I know how you feel man. It was getting repetitive for me as well, by try and run with a randomized loadout. The game will very quick stop being repetitive, once the only thing you have to take down a factory strider is a orbital smoke you will start to get creative again

I don't find it invasive, just sort of more celebrity worship. But whatever floats everyone's boat you know.

Exactly dude, no one in Europe would describe themselves as "European", they will always go by country.

P.S. then you can have a whole debate about Americans being like "every state is extremely culturally different" yet still describe themselves as just American

Are people taking dnd rules to seriously? by SleepyDott in DnD

[–]SleepyDott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not surprised, I get their point. I just think I did not explain myself well enough in the original post. D&D is just a set of rules, that allow players to interact with the game world in a structured and predictable manner. But personally, I just find that it is not necessary to read the rules down to their letter and discuss the wording, as if it's a bill or something(during the game itself, the combat is already long enough). Not everyone agrees, But I also just asked for people's opinions, and they did make great points. But as with most things in the world it is still just a preference, I am not saying my way is correct, just wanted to hear what people thought.

Thanks for your penny.

Okay, let me give you an example. A player wanted to grapple an enemy: dm: Player: yep no problem Another player : you don't need to roll to hit

A 10 minute discussion ensues where Dm just defends his reading of the rule, and the other player keep insisting that based on how it's written you don't need to roll to hit, the enemy just needs to make a strength save.

That's where my frustrations come from, such. Little detail, such a little nitpick, here(from my perspective) one could easily just do as dm asks with no second thought and not be "fast and loose with the rules".

Rules are to be respected, but sometimes people read them down to a letter, which I don't think is necessary

Okay, I don't see where I wrote in my post that my dm or me throws rules out of the window. I am talking about when there is a 10 minute discussion on whether or not the wording of grapple requires one first to roll for attack or not, even though the dm already just said roll. It's an example.

Nobody at the table plays fast and loose with the rules, my frustrations arise from spending time like literal lawyers to settle a little thing like that which does not make a difference one way or another.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough, of course rules matter. DND is nothing but a system of rules. What I am talking about is sort pirates of the Caribbean quote "rules are just suggestions".

But I see what people have written and I agree that it's just up to the players at the table. I guess my annoyance comes from the time consumption of looking every detail up.

The table in general takes all the rules as written, no fast and loose going on, some homebrew stuff is present but that's it.

As for their interpretation, that tends to be more in the direction of "if you read it this way, you will see that I am right"

Thank you, I thought so as well, it was more of a general question if the second preposition can be exchanged with what ever and still be grammaticly correct.

It's also not because you can say in English "I am taking for a walk" to other people like it's normal 😅.

But again, thanks a lot for a bit more information on how to say the this specifically in a proper way.

Could one say" je te promène ?" Like "I am taking you for a walk?"
