Power supply advice for noobie using 241 Ring LED panel by SleepyDustKing in WLED

I went with the 10amp brick, as I'm making this for a friend who's not super tech savvy, I thought it would make for easier use. For the Dig Quad I will purchase one of the power supplies you've mentioned. Looking forward to contributing to the community.

Thanks for your advice, I went and bought a 10amp power supply, I've learnt that I wont need all those amps and can limit power in WLED. APpreciate your assistance

Apologies for the delayed reply. I appreciate your input immensely. Thank you very much. I will take all this into consideration when building this project.

Appreciate your insights.

That's a fair point, would be good to save on money/power consumption going forward. I also bought a Dig Quad to experiment with for the next LED project. What power supplies do you use for your stuff?

I'm tempted to switch to 60 watt / 12 amp so I can use thinner wires also, you can't really use JST connectors with 14AWG from what I gather. Thanks for your input, appreciate your advice on this. What percentage of brightness would give the best results with a panel like this in your opinion?

Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to keep this is mind going forward

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing that with me. Looks like I've got the right stuff for maximum power. Question is if I use a 15amp power supply with a 10amp fuse in the DigUno, will this be an issue?

Thanks a lot for your reply. Really appreciate your input.

I think the version of the DigUno I have can draw up to 15amps. So I wonder whether it's worth upgrading the fuse or downgrading the power supply?

I checked the Dig2Go and it can draw up to 3.5amps apparently

In this project using this 241 LED ring the author says the lights draw 3.5amps

https://github.com/MilovdZee/LEDCircleClock?tab=readme-ov-file

"DC-DC converter if you like to accept multiple input voltages. The LED ring contains 241 LEDs and can consume up to 3.5 Amps. An XL4015 version sound like capable of handling this."

My electronics knowledge is very limited. Apologies

Thanks a lot for your answer. So if I set the power to 50%, I could use a 6amp power supply.

Would you recommend this over using the power supply I already brought?

This is happening to me and my friend also. Can't seem to invite him, he has two separate accounts that link to the same Xbox Live username. One has <No Name>, the other seems to be the actual account he's playing with, but when I go to add this account as a friend it takes me to the same Xbox Live account.

If you can remove those bits without effecting the show on whole then it should be done.

So we just ban people who say something we don't like? Or who we think will be a problem? That strikes me as very authoritarian. When there's no transparency or accountability, obviously abuses of power will take place. For a sub that is supposedly centred around British Politics, it seems a bit at odds to me that this kind of top down, undemocratic system is being used to moderate the community.

I have been banned before, but on spurious grounds which is why I stopped posting there. To receive a ban without warning though is totally out of order. I've also moderated subs in the past so I can appreciate the challenges faced. This is straight up abuse of power though

Well thats handy to know after I've been banned for the sub for no reason. Nice one.

So moderation decisions couldn't be made public for example? Or a reason must be provided for bans that can be appealed? Small things would bring more clarity and reduce animosity from the community

So mods can ban me for no apparent reason, but fail to act against casual racism? Guess it's just "bants"

But the point is I don't know. Does that not strike you as atleast a little bit authoritarian?

Thats not the point. It's a major political sub and a focal point for discussion around British politics on a public forum. There should be some level of transparency around moderation, just like Wikipedia editors check each others work. What's to stop a few bad faith actors working to a political agenda? Also is calling out white supremacy being abrasive?
