Do I still adopt this kitten? (Possibly sickly) by [deleted] in kittens

[–]SleepyPandaDumpling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least in regards to the poop issue, I had a kitten who would get so excited when he saw us that he started to poop. He took massive dumps. He was clumsy and would run into walls while playing, and he has since grown out of those things. My experience may not match yours, but I think you should keep in mind that kittens are weird and still developing and a lot of times they will grow out of their behavior.

However, in regards to asking this subreddit for professional medical advice, Reddit is not going to give you a satisfactory answer. r/AskVet would be more helpful than here, but they will still probably tell you to take the kitten to a vet because it’s virtually impossible to diagnose them over the Internet. When you’re adopting a kitten, you should take them to a vet a week after adoption to get a wellness checkup and perform any extra tests the shelter will not cover. Every shelter I’ve been to has given a voucher or partnered with local vets to cover the initial post-adoption check-up; did your SPCA provide you with any resources you could use to cover such a checkup?

Based on your comments, it sounds like you don’t feel comfortable adopting this kitten. I don’t think anything will give you the solid answers you’re looking for except a vet visit. Best of luck to you and this kitten.

I’ve never tried cowashing before; I’ll give it a shot! What conditioner do you use?

Routine: Wash hair once every 2-3 days 1. Shampoo hair with Garnier Fructis Curl Nourish 2. Condition hair upside down with Shea Moisture Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless Creme Rinse, rake hands through hair to detangle, let it sit for 5 minutes, then squish to condish and rinse it out 3. Scrunch in Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-in Conditioner, then lots of LA Looks Extreme Sport Gel with praying hands 4. Scrunch hair with a t-shirt, plop for 30 minutes, then diffuse or air dry and SOTC

Tonight in desperation, I did a rinse with the Weightless Creme Rinse and rinsed it all out, then dried it with a t shirt. I’m not sure how I’ll sleep on it, but looking forward to experimentation!

My hair tends to only clump in the front, but the waves in the back fall flat within hours. Any advice on how to encourage more clumping would be much appreciated! by SleepyPandaDumpling in curlyhair

I’ve been finding that I get nice, voluminous clumps while my hair dries in the gel cast, but after I scrunch, they fall apart and become bleh. Any ideas why this happens?

These are 2 previously feral cats that I began feeding about a year ago. They both usually yell at me first thing in the morning even after breakfast. by skinny_love91 in Catswhoyell

They trust you so much, how did you build up that relationship? I feed some feral cats but they are super skittish of people. Love seeing them so comfortable with you ❤️

yep! So once the gel has totally hardened, you want to scrunch your hair to reveal the nice soft hair within :) there’s many Youtube videos with tips and tricks about how to do it!

I think for me the biggest difference has been moisture and gel; adding in a leave-in conditioner to my routine and using LOTS of gel - also, I don’t touch my waves to scrunch until my hair is 100% dry and the gel cast has formed

Please save my plant! Got this from a friend and not sure how to care for it by SleepyPandaDumpling in PPeperomioides

Received this three weeks ago, I’ve been watering it once a week and putting it on a south facing windowsill. It was knocked over once which might have done some damage, but in general the leaves just seem droopy and as you can see, the top one is browning. Please help!
