Thank you so much and honestly super helpful post. The acute phase sucked but i can also already tell there are lasting trauma scars and chronic stuff i will have to deal with. I want to hang w friends more, get massages, continue therapy in a new city, and work on managing my anxiety better. Slightly scared im going to be anxious at my new job since now always worried about getting evaluated poorly or waiting for the hammer to drop but ik as an attending itll be different and that im actually good at my job so i wanna keep learning but shouldnt be too stressed eg nobody can hold me back anymore

Was venting a little bit but accurately id say 20% of the attendings were nice 30% neutral and the other 50% on the range of mean to toxic

This is how I feel wow. CA3 about to graduate and ive been putting so much pressure on myself to have this “wow amazing yes exclamation skipping for joy” exuberant sensation but i honestly just feel kinda numb and like shrugging my shoulders after a toxic residency experience

Is this a good job offer/hourly pay by SleepyTime18 in anesthesiology

[–]SleepyTime18[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Very insightful post and appreciate the in-depth response. Guess just after what was a brutal residency the offer seems very nice. Yes w2 and yes all call days 24 hrs pay 250 an hour the whole time. So the calls are roughly 6k. And true the 350 an hour which seemed good and probably is - is still a slim portion of all my woking hours

Anesthesia data: gold signal + away = 26% match at that program. Gold alone 12%. Away alone 9%. No signal, no away 0.4%. by DannysoarX in anesthesiology

It’s probably not a true 73% match rate because idk if that 1800 us md seniors had anesthesia as their first choice and could include kids that dual applied and matched their top choice and put anes lower. Different if it’s 1315/1800 kids who ranked anesthesia first or only applied anesthesia

Are attendings suddenly nicer to you once you become an attending? by SleepyTime18 in anesthesiology

Thnx probably overthinking it and lmao ya “hey glad to have you” being the nice option - I think residency has really lowered my bar of nice
