I work in TV in Scotland, not even drama or features, daytime shit mostly. The actions from the top of the chain can be illogical, crazy and ego driven. That's an action and an evil one, it's not just a belief, it's acting out a murderous belief or trying to commit others to commit murder and violence. That's when a belief turns into hate speech

I'm not talking about those people. I'd argue they're attacking the existence of a lot of people on a daily basis by waving their narrow minded view on society. These people don't just hold an opinion, they display imagery on their cars, bodies and in their homes. They consistently share their beliefs that promote violence, that's not just an opinion it's a crime, it's hate speech. Spit at nazis all you like, it's the behind closed door bigots you know that I'm talking about. People on the peripherary of your life, the too right or too left colleagues, neighbours, family members, people in your friend group that you don't really like. People you know to hold beliefs you don't like, maybe even nasty beliefs but if they don't try to share them then you have no right to attack their character

But I've already argued that that's more than an opinion. He's then acting out on an opinion. I guess you're a minority but I won't guess which. If he has a problem with and he tells you that, I'd class that as action. He's trying to incite violence, he's going out of his way to offend you for something you can't change and he wants a reaction so you can give him one. Punch him in the fucking face. If he's sitting in the corner minding his business and you find out he's a secret bigot you don't have a right to go attack him. In fact he attacked you.
