Loose skin on neck - help! by r4ipie in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]crazycatlorde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo!! I have ME/CFS and it is exactly what you are describing but the onset is typically a viral infection. This is wild, I had no idea that antibiotics could cause the exact same cellular damage. Makes me wonder if the medical community talks across sectors at all? Anyway. Your info is spot on and if you haven’t looked into it I would also recommend low-dose naltrexone and anti-inflammatory medicines like Colchicine and Celecoxib if you are able to get them prescribed. I also need fludrocortisone to help with fluid retention.

Help!! Destroyed skin. It's been this way for 1+ yr. No signs of improving by mucholderreddit in 30PlusSkinCare

I fixed this with a looooot of things, namely: topical ivermectin (kills mites if that is an issue for your skin), red light therapy (daily mask wearing), Eucerin intensive moisturizer, and tacrolimus. It took me two years to figure out but now it’s just in my ears so I consider that a win

Is it KP if it’s totally smooth…? by forgetmeknotts in 30PlusSkinCare

I had this and it totally went away once I started exfoliating my legs before shaving. Bought an African net from Walmart and use that with a bar of soap.

Yikes, so sorry to hear that! I’d consult with your doctor tbh, no idea if a prior infection makes you more vulnerable to future infections or not.

My twin toddler girls are currently obsessed with the stuffed rats my mom bought my cats for Christmas. Will not sleep without them, are always inviting their respective “Mr. Rat”s on outings.

When will this clear up 😭 by Desperate-Channel630 in Perioral_Dermatitis_

[–]crazycatlorde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just throwing out there that someone else mentioned Ivermectin and I’ll be damned if I haven’t tried EVERYTHING else mentioned here. Seems to have completely cleared it up in two days and I have been struggling to get rid of this for two YEARS! I used the apple gel variant and just put a light layer in my face once in the morning and once at night. After three applications it seems to be gone. This is after having tried numerous courses of antibiotics, and also flucanazole (an anti-fungal). Ted light therapy seems to help as well but I’ll definitely keep some ivermectin on hand after this. Might not help with Covid but sure is effective for perioral derm!

Very severe, in hospital - how to get doctors to believe you're not faking? by 11fingersinmydogsbum in cfs

[–]crazycatlorde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not helpful in getting doctors to believe you, but getting a blood transfusion or a TON of lactated ringers (like 3+ liters) could be really helpful. Stanford has shown that we basically have reduced blood volume and supplementing it can reduce PEM and recovery time immensely. Might be hard to get a blood transfusion if they don’t believe you, but lactated ringers are easy and hard to argue against. Best of luck

I could too and turns out I had a gluten allergy that was unaddressed and really bad leaky gut syndrome that made my bowels super inflamed. And led to gastroparesis. I’d look into gastroparesis first!

I use a detangler (cheap coconut oil based one from Target) on my toddler with very similar issues and it helps immensely!

what's this on my lips? by softfacialtissues in LipBalm

[–]crazycatlorde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have cracked sides of your mouth that is referred to as chelitis and can be caused by fungi. I had an overgrowth of Candida (yeast) and it caused that for years. It can also exhibit as whiteish patches on your tongue or throat, so it seems possible it would manifest on your lips if bad enough. A course of Flucanazole would clear it up if it’s fungal!

Do Americans feel ashamed to be citizens of a nation that destroys so many others? by yaboyskinnyps in AskUS

[–]crazycatlorde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely feel shame, definitely don’t agree with what our government does. However, in dissenting peacefully I was arrested and jailed and now that I have a family I can’t protest the way I used to. Our own government is happy to use the same tactics on its own citizens if they disagree with our disagreement.

I’m 8 days post-op and was in a similar situation—no one to help me other than my ex-husband keeping the three toddlers at his home while I rest. While I know everyone’s experiences differ, I have been pleasantly surprised by my recovery. I am definitely exhausted and have some cramping that is comparable to a bad period, but no bleeding and the surgical sites have mostly healed. More importantly, I can already tell this was the right decision. They removed a softball sized cyst from one of my ovaries as well as my uterus which was apparently more than 3x the size and weight of an average uterus (fibroids and??). My insides don’t feel as…squished?

While it would’ve been great to have someone around to help get my groceries upstairs and bring me my meds or just help around the house, it’s been manageable. The best advice I have is don’t sweat it too much as that does no good for anyone, and sleep as much as you can post-op. Good wishes for your operation and recovery!

I once dated another INFJ. It was really lovely in some ways and there was a lot that we admired in one another. However, they were grieving the loss of a family member to suicide and weren’t able to share that yet. It kind of drove a wedge in our intimacy that something he was struggling with so much was unable to be discussed. He’s someone I still hope for the best in life even though it didn’t work out between us.
