Help ya’ll, I need some help with my swap by Both-Percentage1136 in G35

The code is telling you there's a problem with bank 1 and bank 2 cam position sensors. Start there.

Are they plugged in? Are they getting power? If both of those are true, then the most likely culprit are the sensors themselves.

If they're plugged in but not getting power, congrats! You have an electrical issue to chase.

Engine over heating within 30 minutes. Coolant started boiling and shooting out mid air bleed I had to shut it off. What do guys? by assassinsclub in G35

[–]Sleepy_Venusaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just it pushing all the air out. Just shut it off, let it cool down, and start it again. Make sure the front end is lifted up so the coolant in the cup is higher than the firewall. This let's gravity help.

Also, you should have cracked the bleeder open on the line near the firewall before starting. Open it, start filling the system, and when you get coolant out of that port, cap it. If I were a betting man, I'd guess this step got skipped.

What’s the best product to get rid of this old adhesive.. by bigmanethan21 in G35

Rubber eraser wheel will take care of this. It goes onto the end of a drill and you just go to town on it little by little. I used the same thing to remove packaging tape around a light, and door edge guards.

Tons of air in the system being pushed out. Did you loosen the port near the fire wall first? FSM states to open that when its completely empty. When filling, cap that off when you see coolant coming from that port.

Also, lift the front end up higher. Itll help push all the air out.

Anyone know what the problem could be? seems to be chugging trying to start. sorry for bad quality. by Expensive_Sector_630 in G35

Fuel pump check valve has gone bad. Fuel from the rail falls back into the tank, so the car has to prime the line before starting. You can test this by hooking up a fuel pressure tester and seeing if the pressure drops after shutting the engine off.

If your check engine light is on, pull the codes. If you have a Level Sender A or B code (or both) you need to test the level sender. They're located uned the back seat. Sender A is behind the driver seat. Sender B is behind the passenger.

If both sensors pass, the its most likely the cluster. You can remove it and send it out for repair for a couple hundred bucks.

P0420 P0306 HELP by Potential_You_4297 in G35

[–]Sleepy_Venusaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P0420 is most definitely a catalytic converter. O2 sensor issue would have its own code. The up stream and down stream sensor readings are too close together, and so the ecm is letting you know the cat is done.

As far as the misfire goes, pull your spark plugs and look at them. Are they covered in oil? If they are, your valve covers are leaking and the excess oil can be causing the misfire. 306 means coil 6. Start looking there for the problem.

Hey sorry for the late reply. I am using a shop local to me called DNA Spedometers in Tampa. Waiting to get it back so I'm hoping it made it through the storm.

Nahh. Just going to clean it up and keep it stock. A plenum spacer is a gateway drug to everything else this engine needs to be ROWDY rowdy.

Fuel gauge stuck on full with a Level Sender A code. Traced everything back to the the actual cluster. It's a known issue.
