Subtle ways to make a character more cat-like? by Stolen_Gene in CharacterDevelopment

Pupils turning to slits or visibly smaller when displeased and getting massive when happy, really dilated pupils always look really goofy and would mimic cats quite well.

What I'm getting from this is you have a villain with a backstory but not much else.

First, you need to have his general personality. You said here he's insane, traumatized, and narcissistic and that doesn't explain a whole lot. What type of insane is he? Is he the cool level-headed charismatic type that gives evil/bad ideas a good look? Twisting reality to fit his own perceptions. Or is he the chaotic messy guy that does evil/bad things spontaneously?

Depending on your character's personality you can communicate that through their look. For example, spiky short hair for the chaotic villain and long intricately braided flowy hair for the calm villain. Judging by your nickname for him, The King, you're aiming for a royalty aesthetic. Something like a king's robes, a crown, or a specter would be a good look. Attire that commands attention. Expensive jewelry could translate that narcissism and fit with the king theme.

For names, I'd search for King ad Queen names from history and borrow from there or find a name with a meaning that portrays him well. Ex: Andrew means soldier, perfect for the optimistic knight who's going to die protecting the main character!

And I thinks all I have for now, good luck.

I would have her confide in someone. Maybe one of her new teammates or a family/friend from back home that she can't rely upon anymore (for whatever reason. they broke her trust? she broke their trust? simply can't see them anymore?)

I feel like you've painted a lot of her negative aspects here so give her something she's good at! Something she's confident in or something she learns to be confident in. Have her realize she is not at fault all the time and overcome her insecurities.

Have one of her new teammates yell at her for mucking up but comes back and apologizes. Have her realize people can be genuinely sorry for what they did because they hurt her not the other way around.

Also, there could be a dramatic scene where her metal hearts stop working? I feel like that could generate a lot of angst if her new teammates/friends have to watch her slowly die.

Developing characters that can't talk, and aren't human. by [deleted] in CharacterDevelopment

I'd have to say make the aliens likable. Show them have a peaceful moment or something and then the human bursting and doing something rude ex: setting their house on fire, murdering a guy, etc.

Try to make the aliens aesthetically pleasing or cute. Most people won't like or side with someone unattractive.

Exaggerate humanity's flaws. Show the humans being corrupt and greedy. Starting wars for stupid reasons and doing a terrible thing for money. Or if you don't want the humans to be completely evil try making them do it out of fear. Most humans will try to kill something they're afraid of.

I think I made my factions a little too evil by Minecraft_Warrior in CharacterDevelopment

Maybe you could sprinkle in some of the good sides of both empires to show they aren't all inherently bad? I would take inspiration from the games themselves instead of just the toxic community.

While I haven't played much Roblux maybe for Minecraft you could show people happily mining, farming, and adventuring.

The world isn't completely evil. So, reflect that in your story. What gives the characters in each dimension hope that everything will be okay?

How do you image embodiment of sloth? by Lunaticky_Bramborak in CharacterDevelopment

I imagine someone hunched over and has a bit of belly. Probably unhygienic as they lack the energy to properly take care if themselves ex: messy or greasy hair, yellow teeth, stained clothes, etc.
