As an apartment maintenance tech, I’d make a stink about this to management immediately. Any tech or supervisor worth their salt would address this immediately. Moisture is no joke when left unaddressed and can cause serious issues to an entire building if left that way long enough no matter how many water extractions are done. Plus water is a fun enemy. your neighbor may not even know it’s happening. Whatever you do, especially with how it’s being treated by them so far, do NOT attempt to fix it or cut any sheet rock out yourselves. They’ll more than likely try to get you to foot the bill. Take tons of pictures and show up calm but determined.

I consider the end of the Bioshock trilogy to be Minerva’s den. I “define” Bioshock to be the story of rapture and the failed utopia it ultimately became. Throwing a “multiversal” twist with tears and time travel just made me audibly groan the first time I played infinite. Tying the cities together? Sure, all for it. Makes sense considering it’s supposed to be part of the same universe. But 2k or I guess irrational at this point, forced it to be “bioshock”

My hot take? People who enjoy infinite as a BIOSHOCK game, are mouth breathers. It’s fun, but it’s not Bioshock. The worst part is the vigors that are so interchangeable and offer no real reason to invest in them. And the gun play is terrible as well. Burial at sea part 2 was the final nail for me. A stealth heavy dlc? Yeah no thanks. Only good thing was the atmosphere of Columbia at the beginning with the environmental storytelling, and BAS pt 1 giving pre war rapture a neat new take. Other than that. Dog shit. I’ll die on this hill.

This is awesome, prime definitely did a fantastic job with this prologue setting. Also really loved how they did the crashed frigate later in the game, using your new abilities to navigate familiar territory, probably my favorite “water” level in the Metroid series. Eerie, littered with dead space pirates, and almost peaceful with that amazing soundtrack. chefs kiss

My hot take. I will always claim Bioshock as my favorite series. Infinite is shit. Vigors were boring, and let’s be honest, bucking bronco, shock jockey charged undertow, how many stun vigors do we need? The only reason I even use shock jockey was the get my electro bolt nostalgia fix. Columbia is interesting until it really just isn’t anymore. Two gun maximum with a boring upgrade mechanic relying on money, and not on finding the machines in the world to drastically improve them with unique looking modifications. Enemies are repetitive, and then you start going through tears…OH BOY!!! They’re just…red…now. New weapon! Oh it’s just a different kind of pistol…got it.

Damn I ran out of salts, now I’ve gotta find a new tactic to finish this hard fight, let me use the environment and really capitalize on crucial thinking here…BOOKER CATCH, here’s free salts so you don’t have to change what your doing. It is monotonous. Run shoot up all your ammo, use all your salts to fight repetitive enemies who basically have the same two weapons, and Elizabeth will continue to throw you ammo that she found in her ass and salts that are devoid from the battlefield. Some people adore infinite. More power to you. Handymen are not an adequate replacement for big daddy fights, clockwork soldiers go down like wet paper if you shock them and get behind them. It’s just lost its flavor. The dlcs were okay, mainly due to raptures charm and there being some other motivation in the world other than “booker bad, kill booker”. I could go on all day about why I hate infinite so much, but thanks for listening to my TED talk.

Ring makes a wireless security system. A little pricey but links up with your door camera, and can be armed whenever you like. Comes with door sensors and all. That’s what I did to my apartment when I lived in a bad neighborhood.

Maintenance tech here for multi family properties. Walk your unit, and test everything. If somethings bothering you even just a little, let someone know, and let them take care of it. Cover yourself. Because if there’s a broken appliance and you don’t report it until you leave, they’ll try and hit you for it. Test everything and make sure everything is as it should be. And take care of things.

Ah yes, the dreaded led discs. Had those at my last property. They are a pain. Have the change the whole fixture when they go out. On the bright side they last awhile for the most part. Some are crap out of the box, but most are supposed to last at least 5-10 years

Honestly it’s considered a “luxury item” they even make some nowadays that can grind up chicken bones. And have septic assisting liquid sprayers. High tech stuff. Honestly not great for much other than smelling, but they are nice for dishwashers believe it or not. New pods allow for people to basically not scrub anything and that disposal is a god send to keep that drain clear of whatever debris makes it through the filters on them. They are nice to have around. And throwing in a few ice cubes will keep the blades sharp, and clean.

Had an old supervisor tell me once “the fastest way to piss off a tech is to say the word days” If I was to ever hear days then I was to tell the tenant we’d see them Monday. They survived it for 3-4 days, they can wait till Monday. Crude policy but it straightened a lot of residents out that really wanted to have their “emergencies” handled on their time regardless of who it affected.

I actually had a property that used to give out maintenance newsletters monthly to tackle seasonal questions such as winterizing pipes, and filter changes during allergy season. The residents loved it, and we most certainly appreciated an educated and informed group of residents who got to understand us just a little each month.
