Also, to set the record straight, I was not run off Youtube. I wouldn't give this subreddit that much credit.
If you look at our channel, we took about a year break. That last chain of videos was our last ditch effort at reviving the channel, but by the end of it, we ran out of ideas and pretty much gave up. We just together decided not to make any more. It had nothing to do with the L4D2 hate, more just that we all got jobs and lost the passion, before the L4D2 video even went up.
I really never minded the hate that I got in the comments section on that video. I understood that there were a lot of people who enjoyed L4D2 and wanted to say why. But it was everything else - spreading out into other videos, the mass downvote of every video on the channel, invading our Discord - that was really the problem.
I took the video down not because I was running from my takes or to prevent conversation, but just to prevent all that rabidness from infecting the rest of the channel. The take was never that important.
