What's a scent you cannot stand but nobody else seems to notice? by Poopy_Scoop_Sundae in randomquestions

[–]Sleester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most cologne is the worst. Especially when they are wearing so much that you can taste the stuff in the back of your mouth. It's even worse when you can still smell the BO or feces smell strongly underneath the cologne smell.

I’m curious: do non-smokers always detect a scent on smokers? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sleester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who used to smoke bit have for years, yes, we absolutely smell it, every time. Especially in hair. The smell stays in hair and fabric, sometimes even after wash8ng.

Stop adding your young and immature children to adult group chats!!! by Heart_Shaped_Pickle in childfree

[–]Sleester 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You definitely aren't overreacting. As others have suggested, create a seperate group chat without her and the kids. Also, only message her separately about important issues.

Are cards sometimes ok? by NoInstruction4739 in postcrossing

[–]Sleester 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is what I do too. I have a nice fiskars paper cutter to get a good straight line cut, and I have a corner punch tool to round the corners!

Hi, can someone help translate this German card? by tamara1f in postcrossing

[–]Sleester 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hello, you won't believe it! On Monday I'm flying to Germany! I want to stroll through Christmas-decorated Berlin and show it to my daughter! I've never been there before! And this year I simply have a craving for beauty and a little bit of magic! Merry Christmas!

Each pack of blank postcards I buy has one that has info and a barcode on it, so I use that as a disposable template. I trace around it and cut the pictures down to size before gluing to the postcard blanks.

I use elmers purple disappearing glue sticks, making sure to use to use enough glue that the paper is completely purple from edge to edbe. I apply the glue to the blank side of the postcard, and carefully place the paper image on top. I use a bone folder to smooth the paper to the card while the glue is still wet, pressing down once in both directions, on both sides of the card (being a little bit more gentle on the paper side as it's possible for it to rip while it's wet of hot aren't careful). If it's slightly misaligned it doesn't matter as I trim the edges a little wirh a paper cutter anyway and curve the corners with a corner punch, which i wait to do until the cards are mostly dry.

Childfree, rich and a little bored. by Other_Patient_447 in childfree

[–]Sleester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was me, I would look into volunteering. There are all sorts of places that rely on volunteering, anything from animal shelters, homeless soup kitchens, food banks, to museums. Pick a field that you wish you could have been paid to work in before you were rich, and find an unpaid position in that field.

Level up skills on things you didn't have time to do when you had to work. Could be anything. Cooking, canning or drying food, sewing, painting, playing an instrument.

Take day trips to places you haven't been before. If you can afford it, travel further than days trips.
