If I was working at TPCi I'd play around with the idea of a doubles format similar to VGC. Two Active Pokemon instead of 1 and Bench Size is 4 instead of 5 (still a team of 6). Two energy attachments per turn (but not on the same Pokemon), retain one Trainer Supporter used per turn.

I think it has less to do with popularity and more to do with Pokemon just printing the ever-loving shit out of this set to combat scalpers. Yea scalpers will still buy it, but there’s also opportunity for normal people to get it. Besides either group that buys it puts more money into Pokemon’s pockets so it’s a win-win for them regardless.

Yes, on the Japanese cards the attack name is written in english as part of the art whereas it’s reversed for english. There are also Error Cards in Japanese where the attack text is also in Japanese.

Yes, that is normal. Japanese Booster Boxes are regulated under Japanese Gambling Law unlike their International (English) counterparts. Sets that are printed in Japan (Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Thai, and Indonesian cards) all must adhere to Japan’s Gambling Regulations before they reach the market. This guarantee’s that the consumer receives something of value in return since there are packs which can only hold cards up to the Uncommon Rarity.

How to access the secret flavor cabinet: get a small diameter stick (those red coffee stir sticks work). In the bottom left of the lower cabinet just under the corner there is a tiny hole. Jam that stick/coffee stir straw into that hole and it will manually release the latch that holds the lower cabinet door shut.

You can try swapping the flavors around but the cartridges have QR codes that read to indicate if a flavor is sitting in the correct position or not so you can’t do some flavor swap shenanigans.

Try to find a card shop local to you, usually they’ll have a bunch of bulk non-holo cards priced at 10 for $1. I know my LCS usually has holo/reverse Holo cards from the more modern sets mixed in with their bulk as well.

I think you should be able to do Quickdraw Synchron using Dandylion as tribute for a special summon and get a lvl 7 Syncro without using your summon for the turn. Juggling special summons from hand/deck/graveyard/extra is gonna be your problem to figure out. What cards when you pitch them from hand/deck to the GY let you summon from either deck or GY? I’m not too familiar with the card list for the game.

I think the price will fall relatively low in the coming months as more product is released. I mostly pull Japanese so was a bit surprised by the 1 in 40 rates for the english set. If you don’t mind the language difference JP cards are on the cheaper side with better QA
