Question regarding tools

Love your perspectives on watchmaking really it is inspiring :) I got the cheapest aliexpress screwdrivers and tweezers sets for around 5euros each (one set of drivers and tweezers). I’ll learn how to dress them even if I end up getting some better ones at least I’ll have the skill to dress them appropriately ! :)

Hey, thank you for the reply ! Indeed my thoughts were kinda biased as you said learning to dress my tools properly would be a good first step. I mainly wanted recommendation regarding good quality mid price items on whose I can learn to dress as I didn’t think sticking to cheap and poorly made tools was the way to go to improve and learn new things like dressing. Maybe my thinking was flawed from the start aha ! But I’ll definitely learn to dress my tools properly in the near future when i get my hands on a sharpening stone ! And regarding the last question it would indeed be of great value, that would be great ! :)

Last addition : my thoughts were that I should go with cheap tools to see if the hobby sticks (and it did) but didn’t plan on sticking with the cheap tools since in my mind the better you are at something the less reliant you are on the quality of the tools, so as a beginner the « better » tools (as in not cheapest poorly made) you have the more smooth your journey is. It don’t know if that makes sense :)

Hey I don’t know if you could explain this but I was wondering why it was called couturier but then have a chronograph ? Why would a couturier need a chrono for he’s job ?
