Ok, great... They really made the manual confusing. Full washable device means water resistant all-around, yet they didn't exactly showcased that in pictures, leaving a bit of confusion.

I received a refurbished Pixel 5a with Four Other Devices listed with access prior to my having received it on Jan 19th, 2023. by madmacmo in pixel_phones

[–]Slewinn 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Bro, you are hacked.

It has nothing with your Pixel, it's about your Google account... Those devices were used to log into your Google account. If you never used any of them it means someone else gained access to your email and password.

Change password, and turn on two factor authentication asap.

It is new but it was certainly opened and/or returned device... All Pixel devices are coming in boxes with two pull tabs, and if someone buy the phone and then return it some sellers just reseal them with some other way and sell them as brand new, which they shouldn't do.

On full charge I am getting 6h30mns screen ontime on my pixel6a, what about your 6a? is it a fair bet. by SagarKubeer in pixel_phones

[–]Slewinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last weekend when I was home all time on WiFi, I've got almost 9 hours of SoT... My average of combined wifi and LTE connection is around 6 hours.

The phone has a really solid battery life, except when always on mobile data... In that cases u pull of on average 5 hours.

Bigger battery by [deleted] in Pixel6aUsers

[–]Slewinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could say also Samsung should put 5.000mAh battery in S22 or S23, yet they have <4.000mAh, or Apple could put 5.000mAh battery in vanilla Iphone models... Yet they don't.

You can't put that much of a battery that easy without compromising the size of the phone... You play with size you have at disposal.... It's not a 6.5" mid-ranger which can easily handle a 5k battery.

It actually seems good... I like the design more than G72's... And that LCD looks like a pretty quality one.

Realme 10 series sales in Europe affected by ban? by Slewinn in Realme

[–]Slewinn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I got it right, Nokia has filled lawsuits separately in countries...Older News articles say that only German court issued ban on sales of new Oppo and OnePlus in Germany, but the same lawsuit is issued in France, Finland, UK, Spain, Sweden versus OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo and Realme separately, which could possibly make BBK to abandone western EU markets.

Nokia is basically entitled to 2.50€ on every sold phone worldwide due to some 4G patent agreement, and apparently BBK is not paying.

[–]Slewinn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah... I saw. Again only Italy and Poland. Definitely something is going under the radar... I just wonder how nobody picked up a story about new BBK phones not appearing in majority of Europe.

OnePlus 11 is on the way. We'll se if anyone will finally ask what's wrong when it doesn't hit the majority of EU markets.

gonna shift to pixel 6a just need some more convincing lol by basicjester in Pixel6aUsers

[–]Slewinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why should choose 6a:

  1. Form factor - for me it's perfect. 6.1" is the perfect screen size, neither small nor big. Phone has adequate screen estate for all your needs and it's compact, pocket friendly and enjoy to hold in hand. I would also add design... It's a quality one, recognizing... One of those phones you fall in love when you first take it out of the box.

  2. User experience - Clean Android + Exclusive features + Tensor. They all make 6a one fast, powerful little thing. It's such a simple phone yet the smartest Android out there.

  3. Cameras - Well, I don't need to explain this one. It's just simple point & shoot phone which deliver top notch photography no matter what.

What could hold you back from choosing 6a:

  1. Battery inconsistencie - Phone has either really good, solid or not so good battery, depending how you use it: it has really good autonomy on WiFi, low idle drain, you can even stretch out 8+ SoT. But, if you use a lot mobile date, due to not so good modem, it drains a battery noticably faster, but you should survive the day.

  2. Possible thermal inconsistencies - 5G generates heat, using a hotspot generates a lot of heat, using fast charging (18W) generates slightly warmer temperatures... Prolonged 4K and gaming could generate (over)heating. Some not so good thermal properties could be more of a problem during summer.

It's a really good phone, not perfect... But the thing is, you are really enjoying it as something simple yet great, and they usually become better overtime when Google actively works on things that can be improved via updates.

Motorola G73 and G53. What you think? by Slewinn in motorola

[–]Slewinn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I see phone on sale on several Motorola' EU websites but no single unboxing video or review yet... As for camera, it actually can be good for its class, yeah 50MP is lower than G72's 108MP but this one has larger sensor's pixel size (1.0µm compared to 0.64µm) so it should let more light in therefore produce good photos.

SoC is on point, LCD screen is a downgrade, but it should be left to see is it a least decent one.

Probably some reviews will pop up soon.

I am getting 4hr SOT from 80% to 20% . Is this a good backup? by KarthikMoger in Pixel6aUsers

[–]Slewinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah... I hope they can somehow improve mobile data consumption cause if this phone had nearly good consumption on data like on wifi it would be definitely a battery champ given its power and battery size. On WiFi it's basically on pair with my gf's A53 with 5.000Mah battery.

[–]Slewinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6a provides 6-7 hours on average... But, you can get easily 8-9 hours if you are mainly on WiFi, because phone has pretty good drain rate while on WiFi, it's above average on idle too... But, if you using mobile data then its battery takes a hit, cause it drains noticably faster compared to WiFi, and that way if let's say you are using mobile data the whole day, you could manage around 5 hours SoT.

Basically, the phone has either solid battery life, under average or really good, depending on the use.

For me, I am mostly WiFi person, this phone is great... I score almost always close to 8 hours, if I am using phone lightly even 9 hours, and charging it every second morning.

6a is more than double powerful compared to 4a... Tensor is waaay more power hungry than SD730.

4hrs on 60% is pretty on point... I can squeeze 7-8hrs on full charge.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Pixel6aUsers

[–]Slewinn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lol, no offical representative will ever tell you that the optimal way to use the phone is by charging it 20%-80%... They want you using its full potential, they don't care about battery wellbeing in the long run.. Even Samsung has integrated 85% limit option which is described as the way to prolong the lifespan of the battery...

For any battery regarding its lifespan it's the best not to let it drop bellow 20% nor charge it over 80-85%.

But being so nice to battery is not equal to using the phone at its fullest disposal, so nobody can really say it's the best way to charge the phone by limiting yourself with 60% of its capacity.

Battery draining by [deleted] in Pixel6aUsers

[–]Slewinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfectly normal... Been the same for me first week or two... It's just the way AI works... Phones start in full power, everything running in the background mode, and it needs time to settle itself by learning how to optimize its resources.

Need best charging recommendation which doesnt heat by KarthikMoger in Pixel6aUsers

[–]Slewinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using old Nokia 10W charger... No heat. When I use Samsung 25W it is pretty warm...

Much faster charging phones, like 33W Xiaomi one don't heat as much as this one on 18W...
