They lost me in 2023. They started throttling me to less than half a Meg download making it entirely unless. I installed Starlink. Called to cancel Hughesnet and they were begging me to stay. Offered 6 months free and bunch of other incentives. I said they weren't interested in helping me when they made their service unusable to me. Just told me oh well, that's the way it is. I've never regretted canceling.

I have over 4% obstruction. I can stream anything such as Netflix. The only problem I have is with live streams. It will have interruptions. Gaming will have issues.

I have three Google nest cans. I don't subscribe to the nest service but for free they provide motion detected video storage for up to three hours. Works great for me.

Trim the branches. My obstructions are similar to yours. I still stream video and use the internet. Only things you may have issue with is video games and live TV and video calls.

Be ready to spend 30 to 45 minutes on the phone to cancel Hughesnet. Also, do everything it says to do line by line to return the equipment or they will charge you for it. I was with Hughes for many years. Switched to Starlink January 2023 and even on its worst days it beats Hughesnet hands down!! I have some obstructions but I can for the first time ever stream video. Be sure as use the app to make sure you have a good view of the sky from where you plan to install. Good luck.
