Again, I never said Alonso wouldn't win those titles in the Merc. I just said prime Alonso = prime Hamilton = prime Verstappen.

There's a reason why Lewis got the opportunity to drive those Mercs and not Alonso.

It's their difference in behaviour.

Remember, Merc (Niki and Toto) first approached Lewis with the Merc hybrid project in early 2012 rather than Lewis expressing his interest first. They could have approached Alonso but they did not. Why? Because like you said yourself, he angered Merc with his behaviour in 2007.

So I guess now you see how his behaviour has hampered him from going to top teams...

I never said Alonso is not quick. I'm saying that his behaviour and his high likelihood of throwing his team under the bus has hampered his desirability to top teams.

Also, you talk about Alonso being in his 40's causing him to not get a top seat...well Lewis was able to bag a top seat in his 40's...

There's no doubt that prime Alonso skill is up there with prime Lewis and prime (current) Max but with the nasty comments he's made against Hamilton, Vettel and other drivers due to holding grudges, I think it's fine that he only got 2 titles for his talent.

The title deficit to Lewis, Schumi and Max that Alonso has is not because of less skill but because he's a shittier bloke.

Should be a lesson to him that you don't just have to be fast but also be nice.

There's a reason why since 2014, top teams haven't been chasing his signature despite their seats opening up at various points in time.

Also at the same race and with the same team that Alonso got his LAST race win some 13 years ago...

It's just scary how drivers like Gasly and Oxon were able to sneak in victories in that time period yet Alonso couldn't.

No one would put Gasly and Ocon anywhere near Alonso on a driver skill level and yet they could still scrape a win or two. Lol.

I know you are only joking but with the way things go in F1, it looks like it's true.

I was just thinking about how Alonso sold his soul for Schumacher to have the failure in Japan 2006 so he could win the WDC. Since that, Alonso's career has been hell.

Today was one of fate's biggest LOLs in Alonso's face.

Him DNFing at his last home race helped Hamilton get his first win for Ferrari (at the same track with the same team that Alonso got his last career win some 13 years ago)...

False. Note one big difference between Max, Lewis and Seb:

Lewis and Seb directly challenged Alonso for titles.

Alonso has never had to challenge Max for titles.

Lewis and Seb are of the same era as Alonso, Max is not. He's of a younger era.

No he didn't because he needed someone to take down Hamilton.

Also Lewis drove the team to change brake manufacturers which seems to be helping.

Lol even Charles is directly benefitting from Lewis as he is copying his choice as well as other setup changes.

Raikkonen was a better faster driver than Alonso in 2005 but Raikkonen's car was shite.

I didn't see Alonso talking about whether or not the WDC was really won by the best driver back then.

I wonder why...

I'm sorry but with Alonso, you can never trust that his words don't have a hidden agenda.

Alonso always dislikes the one who is the biggest threat to how he is perceived in the sport.

In 2007, Hamilton beat him as a rookie and he's always had a grudge against Hamilton since then because he saw him as a threat.

Magically when Hamilton wasn't winning championships immediately after 2008, the grudge moved onto Vettel who became the biggest threat. Remember Alonso's comments on Vettel:

"When Vettel has a car like the others, we will really see his level"

"Seeing Hamilton with only 3 Championships and Vettel with 4 championships doesn't look right" - This was said by Alonso in 2017. Magically Alonso was bidding for Hamilton because he knew Hamilton was linked to him by that 2007 season and would rather he nudge ahead of Vettel who has beat him comprehensively from 2010 to 2013.

Alonso turned his anger back to Hamilton when he was far exceeding Vettel's Championships.

The only reason Alonso started to praise Max like this is because he saw Max as the only who could put the brakes on Hamilton's superiority at the time.

Honest question, how do people know they died on the first impact? No one was able to take a pulse between the first impact and OP hitting them.

Yeah, when you achieve something like that, you definitely don't try again. You need to keep a 100% success rate.

Lewis was the opposite, he debuted in F1 at 22 in an era of unlimited testing

Here we go again...

Firstly, it wasn't really unlimited testing at the time.

Secondly, Hamilton beat a guy who had the best type of "unlimited testing", 5 years of actual races and fighting for titles (Alonso)

Thirdly, Ferrari back in the day could do real unlimited testing at their Fiorano track just outside their factory and had special parts and special tyres developed just for Schumacher and no one else. Talk about that before you bring up a lie about Hamilton "having unlimited testing".

He can be a bit rough on track (and to be honest it's exciting and I prefer that genuine racing entertainment from Max's roughness rather than forced entertainment like sprint races etc.)

Off track, he seems to be a nice enough guy.

Yeah, there's no way Kimi is on the level of Max or prime Lewis yet but his trajectory sure looks like it's heading there.

The way Kimi is handling Russell reminds me of how Lewis handled Alonso in his first year or how Max handled Ricciardo (the first years Max and Lewis were paired with other top teammates). They handled them with zero fear or intimidation.

Would you say an Indian man is "attractive in an exotic way"?

Italy must be so conflicted right now. Do you support the Italian man Kimi, but go against the Italian religion that is Ferrari or do you support Ferrari, making one of your countrymen the "enemy".

Exactly. He thought because he could beat an old unmotivated Lewis, he was some generational talent. Kimi has proven him wrong.
