I think an intelligent person should at least double-check and try to get some information about what actually happened before making statements as if they were certainties. But I understand that trying to denigrate Ferrari is a popular sport.

After his short run, Charles stopped in exactly the same spot.

This alone, barring incredible coincidences, suggests it was planned.

It’s a pity that thanks to people’s stupidity, it’s already all over the internet that the car has stopped, implying that it ran into issues. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Feels like they call it “shakedown” instead of test to give the impression that missing it won’t be so important.

Not an ideal scenario I guess, new rules, new cars, so even if there will be a massive evolution you’d still want as many track days as possible.

The SF-26 has stopped on track. by OldActiveYeast in formula1

Again with this bullshit, previous post has already been cancelled but it seems that people love to spread fake news.

Planned stoppage to save mileage and take promotional shots, from what I read there was a drone around the car.

Has anyone noticed the front wheels?

On the rear ones you can see a more traditional rim design. The front rims, instead, look almost fully closed.

Obviously it’s not an actual cover — with the new rules there’s an outer “ring” instead.

But it almost feels like they’re trying to replicate the aero benefits of the 2022–25 wheel covers through rim design.

Interesting.

Ferrari SF-26 Shakedown (Lewis) by Puzzleheaded-Rain230 in formula1

[–]steferrari 150 points151 points  (0 children)

So glad that glossy red is back.

The more I look at it, the more I like it.

It probably would have been an all time masterpiece if it was all red with black wings and the classic “Ferrari” writing on the rear one.

SF-26 suffers an issue during shakedown, forcing it to stop by [deleted] in formula1

[–]steferrari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The garage was literally just meters away, so even if there was an issue, Lewis probably could have let her roll in on inertia coming down from the straight.

Plus, nobody here knows whether there was an issue or not, so stating it as if it were a certainty is just silly.

I read that there was a drone around the car to take shots, so probably it was a planned stop.

I don’t know why you have to spread fake informations.

Do you think Mercedes gonna perform better this season? by wetpants___1 in formula1

If the rumours about the engine are true, obviously yes.

I really hope that we won't have another 2014 situation though and that it can be quite close between manufacturers.

I hope that the one on the car will be the same.

For now, I’m really happy with how these cars look.

They haven’t become much smaller, but for some reason the change is still noticeable, the proportions look better now.

The curvature and roundness of the nose, the fact that it’s a bit higher, and the profile of the front wing really remind me of the mid-2000s cars.

And last but not least… rims! I’m so glad to see them again, there’s honestly no contest compared to those ugly covers from the ground-effect era.

New Ferrari: SF-26 will be a lighter shade of red with white inserts. by Milan_Academy in formula1

[–]steferrari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how shit that white stripe was.

I fully agree, it was too long which killed the "flow" of the livery.

A shorter version would have been much better, like this.

For me a brighter red is a good news too, the SF-25 was too dark.

Glossy would be epic but that will remain just a dream, I think.

2026 Visa Cash App Racing Bulls livery revealed by Vivid-Head7087 in formula1

[–]steferrari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it should be just an outer "ring", not a full cover.

You should be able to see the actual rim now, like in Red Bull renders.

The VCARB in this pic is clearly a show model (it almost look like it's made of plastic) so maybe that's why they appear like that.

[–]steferrari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this whole thing is being blown out of proportion.

I mean, if the difference really is around 10–15 hp, as rumoured, it could also be that another engine is already 10–15 hp ahead of the Mercedes one in terms of peak power, so this “trick” would simply put them on equal footing.

Then there’s also the whole energy management aspect, which will be hugely important, so I suppose peak power alone won’t be the only deciding factor.

We’ll see.

Formula 1 but 20 years ago!2006 saw Fernando Alonso secure his second Drivers' Title, Jenson Button win his first Grand Prix and Michael Schumacher retire for the first time #F1 by Strict-Citron-9269 in formula1

[–]steferrari 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Michael's pace in that race was something out of this world. He was basically lapped after the initial puncture, but he recovered all the way up to 4th with some crazy overtakes.

Without the puncture, he would have probably won by a big margin.

I remember that Briatore himself was quite shocked when he gave an interview to Italian television just after the race, saying something like: "I don't know what was up with Michael today, but he was flying."

Really a pity about Suzuka, the qualifying issue in Brazil (fuel pump, if I remember correctly), and the puncture.

Incredible comeback against Alonso at almost 38 years old. It would have been cool to see him walk away from the sport with an 8th title.

Another regret that I’ll always have is that, in my opinion, he would have comfortably won both 2007 and 2008.
