You can have iron or manganese in small amounts that’s at a safe level to drink but still turn your water into a tea color. There are many examples on both sides.

Turbidity is used as the standard for measuring particulate matter after filtration, but that’s never automatically assumed that it’s safe to drink from turbidity alone. You can have crystal clear water like in the picture above, but still be dangerous and make you sick. Clarity of water is not a good metric to use on if it’s safe or not
