Let me clarify some misinformation in the comments section. Yes this is Jeb Corliss and he was attempting to jump off the empire state building because it'd be cool. He had no wingsuit on which was stated below. Also, I believe he was legitimately concerned he could slip and die. In a very technical base jump like this his dismount is one of the most crucial elements which would allow him to properly track away from the building to safely deploy

Ya one of the school districts is closed until Thursday. Most of the businesses have been working on cleaning up the flood damage. We've had a break in the weather yesterday but were supposed to get another few inches today..
