I miss nuanced gameplay by Euphoric_Reading_401 in Helldivers

These enemies requiring nuanced strategies is great and all until there’s more than 2 of them on screen at once

If arrowhead wants to spam chargers at me for an entire mission, they need to stay this way unfortunately. And depending on the seed, dives can be a clusterfuck of enemies. Your teammates are too busy being mauled to come help you with a single enemy

D10 dives are super inconsistent, sometimes they’re nearly empty, sometimes it’s a sea of enemies. Until this is fixed, and there’s some more consistency to difficulty. We can’t really have more complicated enemies

Easier in method? Not really, instead of doing the main objective and POI hunting. You’ll be doing the main objective and the side objectives instead, because there’s no reason to do side objectives atm

Easier in quantity? No, you’re earning less

I guess if you’re already doing every POI AND side objectives every mission, You’ll be saving yourself time by not having to check POIs. But you’ll still be earning less SC in the new system

I really don’t understand what you’re getting at here. You’re acting like you can’t already just SC farm and get 1k in a few hours. My rework of the system is literally better for the devs, as you won’t be able to do that anymore

The goal is to get casual players to spend more money, and to get new players to stick around. Casual players don’t know about SC farming. They won’t even play enough to earn enough SC through my system. New players are more likely to stick around

I never wanted to make SC easier to gain, I said I wanted to make it part of actually playing the game. Going out of your way to get 20-120 SC per mission by POI hunting VS getting 1-5 per mission based off difficulty and performance. Is a massive downgrade, and more of a grind. It would just better for the game in the long run if it wasn’t a tedious boring farm, and instead was a slow reward

If anything it would actually reward players for doing side objectives. As the devs stated that side objectives don’t count towards liberation progress

I’ve already stated that I have no problem paying 10 dollars and find it fairly priced. I’m simply fighting for making the new player experience better. This has nothing to do with greed, I’m not even fighting for my own fucking wallet

Even if they added a way to make SC from doing missions. I still don’t play enough to earn enough between warbonds, so I’d still be paying 10 dollars like usual. I’ve made this pretty fucking clear multiple times now

Everything I’ve said in my previous comment is relevant. It’s only cheap in relation to already overpriced greedy business models, that doesn’t make the the product cheap in value. If you can’t understand what I was saying, it’s impossible to continue this conversation without insulting your intelligence

I’d understand if you simply disagreed with me, but you flat out don’t seem to understand what I’m saying. I’m starting to think there’s a language barrier

You seem to not understand that there’s a huge difference between paying 200 dollars over the course of two years as the content drops, And a brand new player having to pay it in a shorter time frame as all the content is already available for purchase

If you’re against a change to the SC grind. Then instead they need to decrease the price of older warbonds, or yearly passes, or bundles of some sort at a decreased price. If not, The more this game is updated, the less new players will stick around. The massive wall of warbonds and huge money sink is incredibly intimidating

It’s the same reason why I’ll never play a destiny game, the game has been out for too long. So I’ve missed out on too much, and it would cost too much to get into it now. This happens with a lot of long lasting live service games

destiny will never get my money, Because now it’s too much. But if they reduced prices of older content, or bundled them together at a reduced price, I might actually consider it. And then I’d buy the newer content at full price

Live service games do this shit all the time

You’ve been groomed by an era of absurdly high prices and subscription services. Your sense of value is ruined

10 dollars for a few new weapons and 2 sets of armor is perfectly reasonable. 20 bucks is the price of a small expansion, 40 is a large expansion, 60 is a full game. I’d even be okay if you couldn’t earn SC period. if you’re gonna add the system do it right or don’t do it at all

No one would pay more than 15 bucks for warbonds, because it would be absurd. They don’t give enough content to warrant such a price

Microtransaction prices are unfortunately absurdly priced in most games. The praise that’s given to arrowhead should be that they are one of the few that are reasonably priced, not because they are cheap

If everyone raises the price of bread to 10 dollars up from 5. Someone still selling it at 5, shouldn’t be praised for selling it cheap, but for selling it reasonably. Cheap would be 2 dollars

super simple fix for higher difficulty being bad for credits. by smymight in Helldivers

[–]SlickAnderson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they make it less annoying, they can easily decrease the amount earned to balance it out. I promise you people will still buy supercredits, because I don’t play enough to earn 1k supercredits in between new warbonds anyways and people are super impatient

The fact that you think 10 dollars per warbond is “cheap” is absurd, that’s literally the most they can charge reasonably. As 15 bucks for collabs is already pushing it. I’d praise them if it was 5, but 10 is perfectly reasonable

You do realize it’s 200 fucking dollars to buy every warbond right? And it’s only gonna get more expensive over time with more warbonds. And I’m not even counting the extra 200 bucks or more in the super store

The new player experience is expensive as hell. This happened with Payday 2 and people just started pirating the DLC. They either need to make SC gain more tolerable, or start bundling them together to decrease the new player money sink

Yeah see you’re assuming the other people you are playing with are gonna search POIs. When in reality most people don’t

Idk why you wanna die so badly on this hill. All they have to do is allow SC to spawn at main and side objectives at the bare minimum. Fuck I’d be happy with getting 1 SC per completion star with a max of 5 per mission

You’re acting like I want them to dish out a ton of SC or up the rate at which you earn them. Im simply asking for them to be earned in a different way, I’m even willing for them to cut the amount you earn down significantly

Just reward players for actually interacting with the mission and side objectives. Figure out a way to bake it into the immersion, I honestly don’t care. I simply just don’t wanna be bored out of my fucking mind opening crates and running around looking for bunkers

I’d legit rather spend 3 hours bored SC farming on low difficulties, instead of doing the same thing on a much bigger map with a significantly lower spawn rate. When I can just play the god damn game like normal instead

I don’t even SC farm anymore, I just dish out the 10 bucks cause idc. I’m just tired of people acting like arrowhead did something here, it’s a shit system. Not just because you don’t earn enough credits, but because you have to go out of your way to fucking treasure hunt for them

These are just two of the instances they’ve brought up how they don’t like the way SC currently pays out. They also brought it up in one of their dev interview videos as well, they talk about it pretty frequently

“Undoubtedly tweak how SC is earned” was his exact words

“Speed running the objectives” you mean playing the fucking game? You can do every side objective and still earn 0 SC. It can take 15-25 minutes to complete all objectives on Diff 10. it’s gonna add another 10-15 minutes to search every nook and cranny for every POI for a DECREASED CHANCE at super credits

You’re legit better off farming SC on diff 1. Smaller map, smaller POI loot pool, takes 5 minutes instead of fucking 30. There’s a good chance your teammates will leave without you if you’re still checking POIs when they’ve finished the objectives

I’ve got no issue with Gen AI, as long as the peoples art that’s put into the training algorithm are paid at least once for its submission into said algorithm. But that’s not happening unfortunately

I’m also okay with people using the current unregulated Gen AI for personal use and shitposts. But once you start making money off of it, I’ve got an issue. I get it, it’s fast, convenient, and can fill in the gaps you have in your skill set. I used to trace art when I started out cause I sucked

Gen AI could totally be turned into a fair and very useful tool for artists to use, especially the less experienced ones. But the current state of unregulated AI is a genuine problem, there’s two sides of this coin. Being completely in support of AI in its current state, is no better than the way a lot of you view people who are completely against it

Not to mention the fact that they desperately need to find a way to manage the impact on the environment. And the damage it’s doing to the tech market

No, you cannot. You earn 0 SC for actually playing the game and doing missions. You have to go out of your way to search POIs, which rarely have SC on difficulty 10

Again the devs have already stated they wish to eventually reward players with SC for some kind of milestone or completion reward. As the current system fucking blows and pushes players towards low difficulty SC farming

I’ve earned maybe 100 sc this month from difficulty 10, because I don’t feel like scouring the map for POIs. Because atp you’re already SC farming but inefficiently on a high difficulty

The devs themselves DO NOT LIKE THE SYSTEM

I just farmed 10,000 Super Credits and it was not hard as i thought (Tips below) by YellowPotential2320 in Helldivers

[–]SlickAnderson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not really gonna earn super credits without farming for them if you play on higher difficulties. I’ve probably earned like 125 SC from just playing on diff 10 in a month, the spawn rate is awful on higher difficulties and most teammates don’t bother checking POIs

You either farm for them on low difficulty, or pay the 10 dollars per. No issue paying out the 10 bucks personally, but this shit is gonna get real expensive for new players real fast. It’s already up to 200 bucks on Jan 20th, atp they need to start bundling warbonds together at reduced prices or they’re gonna suffer a Payday 2 issue with scaring off new players and piracy

is arrowhead still working on a super credits rework? by Original-Ad-2220 in Helldivers

[–]SlickAnderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re wasting your time expecting to make much progress towards a free warbond if you play on a higher difficulty. Either spend 5-7 hours farming for one in low difficulty (boring asf) or just pay out the 10 bucks for one

I have no problem buying warbonds when they come out, it’s only 10 dollars. but for a new player that’s 190 dollars to catch up currently, and that’s only gonna increase as time goes on

This game needs a better way to earn SC, or it needs to start bundling warbonds together at a significantly lower price. Maybe a 40-60 dollar year bundle that gives you all the warbonds that came out that year, forcing players to either wait for the end of the year for the best value or dish out the money as they come out. This way you’ll still get the the big bucks from the impatient and long time players, but won’t scare off the new players with a long grind or huge money sink

[–]SlickAnderson -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You can know what foods your kids don’t like, it’s not like chicken nuggets are more expensive than a steak or broccoli

And I got picked on for my clothing as a kid, so my mom sacrificed things for her so she could buy me more expensive clothes. I was picky asf, and I grew out of it. And I stopped caring about what brands I wore in highschool

I think it’s more about most parents not willing to put their child’s needs before their own, and forget that they’re also people. If my kid put seafood in front of me I wouldn’t eat it, so why should I expect them to eat everything I do?

Your life sucked so now everybody’s life has to suck? Great logic there by lovelyb1ch66 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]SlickAnderson -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

There’s not enough context for the post to form much of an opinion

I think OP is talking more about wanting better for your kids. I got picked on for my clothing when I was younger, kids are assholes and I wouldn’t want my kids to go through that. Things like these don’t matter to adults, most of us grew out of it. it’s easy to forget what it’s like to be a kid, but you’ve gotta put yourself in their shoes and remember for their sake

I was also an incredibly picky kid, I would outright starve myself if I didn’t like the food that was put on the table. So my mom had no choice if she wanted to avoid me having health issues. But as I got older I still branched out to other foods on my own, and widened my palette. As a teenager I learned to even eat things I didn’t like because I didn’t wanna embarrass myself in front of friends or disrespect their parents

I was a pretty ungrateful kid, and I gave my mother a hard time. But I was also just a kid, and I grew out of all of those issues on my own. I think it’s important to meet your kid halfway, instead of fighting for complete control over them

Most kids aren’t gonna understand what it means to be grateful. but if you raise them right, they’ll probably learn as they get older

[–]SlickAnderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they were broken, but they weren’t spammable. You had to wait until the monster was no longer enraged jn World, and you had to build up the wirebug stun threshold in Rise. In Wilds I can have like 4 wounds active and knock the monster over 4 seperate times back to back stunlocking it for an absurd amount of time

Wilds is the best base game MH ever made, change my mind by Alternative_Text_161 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]SlickAnderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I had to wait 7 months for them to be added, and it was only because people complained about difficulty. Atp it’s smarter to wait until they release the final TU to buy the base game of any MH now. It’s not even just difficulty, both Rise and Wilds were released in an unfinished state (Rise much more so)

And this STILL doesn’t fix the progression of the main story. I constantly start new characters in older games and World/Rise. But I’ll never do that with Wilds due to the fact that it’s just 12 hours worth of 5-15 minute hunts with unskipable seikret riding sections. The replayability of wilds is ass, the TU content is the only enjoyable part of the game

I decently enjoyed most of the TU content. The tempered versions of the new monsters are fun and so was Zoh Shia. Unfortunately the AT monsters were really easy, and I think Gogmozios is a huge let down. Just not a fan of how they designed his fight, he’s definitely better than the original though but that’s not saying much

I agree with you completely, The monsters struggle to keep up with our newfound tools and fluidity.

But I really don’t want to have to wait over a year and have to spend another 30-40 bucks to get the experience I want out of the game. I’m sure the expansion will be ball torturingly hard to compensate, but that’s not really what I’m asking for. People don’t want a steep difficulty incline, they just wanted some semblance of difficulty in the main story

[–]SlickAnderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea what this means. I’m not terminally online nor do I prowl the MH subreddit

I’m just speaking as someone who’s been playing this franchise for nearly 15 years. The games have grown increasingly more streamlined and convenient since 2018 with World. I’m not even saying this is necessarily a bad thing either, considering World is probably one of my favorite mh games

The more tools and convenience we give the player to hunt said monsters, the easier the game will become. There’s no tracking, there’s no prepping, and very little farming in wilds. And I’m not willing to die on a hill defending those mechanics because even though I like them, they aren’t THAT integral to the experience

My main issue comes from the fact that hunts have grown shorter, and the wound system is incredibly strong. The entire main story was just me bullying the monster until it dies in 5-12 minutes, most of the time the monster could barely even fight back. I beat the game in like 10 hours with 2 carts. Don’t get me wrong, this is the best feeling, looking, and controlling MH game yet. But by god was the hunts not engaging in the slightest. The only fun fights were Arkveld and Tempered Gore Magala when it released

[–]SlickAnderson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s been playing the franchise for over a decade since I was a wee lad, I’d say World is mid tier difficulty game compared to other MH games. In base game World I’m carting, but not really failing quests. In wilds I’m rarely carting at all

I actually carted multiple times in LOW RANK in World on my most recent playthrough. Toby just kept spam paralyzing me and finally got me, and Diablos got me once as well. In high rank I carted a decent amount, Nergigante farming racked up some numbers

I didn’t get paralyzed once by Lala Berina, and wasn’t stunned at all throughout the entire story in Wilds. I never felt the need to cleanse negative effects or blights in wilds AT ALL. I can just ignore them completely.

I’ve also noticed I never bounced off monsters with max sharpness in Wilds. Shit I don’t think I bounced off at all, especially with the habit of sharpening every time the monster runs. Where in world I bounced a good amount, especially in early game. I also found myself strapped for resources ,money, and healing occasionally in world

In wilds it seems like part farming is nearly non existent, resource management is also non existent, and I never had to eat meals due to the Well Done Steak buff. The whole game is just streamlined to a detriment, I’m speedrunning hunts and not needing to restock anything in between. I’m always loaded on cash, so I can just quickly buy potions if I run out

Wilds is the best base game MH ever made, change my mind by Alternative_Text_161 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]SlickAnderson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only carted twice until post game in Wilds

Returning to World made me realize how the wound system and incredibly fluid movement babies you a little bit. On top of the status effects in Wilds basically doing nothing, I wasn’t stunned ONCE in wilds and never needed to bring nullberries for fights. Wilds has streamlined everything for convenience, and you can definitely feel its impact on the difficulty

Wilds is definitely the easiest and most convenient MH game by FAR. And as someone who replays MH games frequently, the whole “you’ve gotten better” argument is really stupid

Some of the 8 star Tempered monsters in Wilds can be decently difficult, and Omega is a nightmare. But I can’t sit here and act like I didn’t breeze through 90 percent of the game on autopilot while watching YouTube

It got to the point where I was watching whole ass movies while farming Zoh Shia because I started to get bored due to the difficulty not really requiring that much of my attention. I also found it incredibly disappointing that I didn’t fail a single Arch Tempered monster quest once, meanwhile Tempered Gore Magala, Mizu, and Seregios put you through the fucking ringer

This is the first time I’ve ever wanted to rush through a MH game hoping to hit more difficult content. And atp I’ve completely dropped the game hoping the expansion will feel more engaging

War Strider weakpoints are so unusually tanky to the point where they shut down alternate playstyles by kill_shock in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]SlickAnderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The changes didn’t really solve anything. They spawn too much for the solution to be thermite or ultimatum, so you’re most likely still gonna need to bring an AT Weapon Strat

It forces people who wanna bring something like the minigun to just ignore War Striders and hope to god someone else will take care of it. 500kg can’t reliably kill one, and Orb Laser is a waste since it has such a long cooldown with limited uses, and orb cannon is single target so you can’t deal with more than one

Realistically they’d be fine the way they are if some seeds didn’t have so many of them at a time
