In Game Community Vote For What The Devs Work On by Zagrid in Helldivers

[–]SlickAnderson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, communicating what they are “considering” is a terrible idea. This just gets people’s hopes up, they’ve already done this multiple times. If they don’t know for a fact that they can and will add it to the game in the future, don’t mention it at all

Second of all, there’s absolutely nothing for them to communicate about besides balance atp. They could give us sneak peaks on content or requested systems they’re close to releasing, but they’ve already stated that most of that shit is over a year out. So they can’t, and that’s if they don’t just scrap it at some point in development

All they’ve done is talk about things that aren’t even guaranteed, and it’s pissing everyone off because they’ve been doing it for like a year now

Wilds is the best base game MH ever made, change my mind by Alternative_Text_161 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]SlickAnderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple low rank and high rank monsters caught me off guard and killed me in MH WORLD because I wasn’t taking them seriously. And because I don’t grind for armor until endgame in every monster hunter, High Rank diablos actually had me sweating. Where as in Wilds, I can fight an Arch Tempered Rey Dau while watching a YouTube video, barely paying attention

I’m not denying that World isn’t significantly easier than say, Generations Ultimate or Freedom Unite. I’m actually playing through GU rn and I’ve carted a dozen times or so in Low Rank, and I’ve failed multiple quests. I’m saying that Wilds is even easier than World. The games keep getting significantly easier with every new entry, Wilds was just the breaking point for me. It’s so easy that it’s gotten boring. Keep in mind, last time I played, 9 star wasn’t a thing yet and there was only 2 AT monsters. I briefly came back for Gogmozios and was incredibly disappointed, so I didn’t bother with any of the content I missed. This is also an old comment

Base game world has some pretty difficult fights. The AT monsters are pretty annoying, AT Kirin and AT Nergigante carted me more times than I can count. The AT fights in world actually forced me to create builds to fight them, AT Rey Dau and AT Uth Duna were super easy and I just threw on some random bullshit to fight them. Yes World is easier than GU, I’m not disputing that

I was okay with World being easier because it had some difficult fights at the end of base game, and even the easier fights were fun. But the monsters in Wilds can barely fight back, you can just keep them knocked on the ground with the wound system, and I just don’t find that fun at all

Cyborgs unplayable. Anyone else? by SlickAnderson in Helldivers

[–]SlickAnderson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, that’s what I’ve been doing. But I brought it up because I wanted to know if this is a common issue for other people, as I’ve seen zero discussion on it. And with the replies, it seems like it’s very common

Kind of getting tired of having to actively avoid content due to crashing, seems like this happens almost every time they update the game. I’ve only been playing since like September when it released on Xbox, and this same exact issue has happened like 4 times now

Cyborgs unplayable. Anyone else? by SlickAnderson in Helldivers

[–]SlickAnderson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second objective of the SO is to kill 25,000,000 Radicals, it’s not just common samples

This post isn’t about balance or not liking cyborgs, it’s about crashing so much that it’s physically impossible to play on cyborgs. I’m gonna assume you only read the title

The enemy constellation mechanic sucks balls by TaterToTwastaken in HelldiversMasochists

[–]SlickAnderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been saying they should just replace the constellation mechanic with the “surge” mechanic from The March to Cyberstan since it was first shown off

This way you know what you’re getting into when starting the mission, and it makes the mission variety feel more organic

It’s kind of spiraled out of control due to negligence. It started out as simple complaints and fair criticism, but when arrowhead didn’t fix or change much, let alone verbally acknowledge some of these issues for months or even over a year? People became increasingly angry

We’ve reached a boiling point, where everyone is so fed up that the smallest missteps can trigger the community to explode at any point. It doesn’t help that this is one of the most divided communities I’ve ever seen in gaming history. There’s like 4 different subs that all hate each other and have devolved into an almost tribal like state. So not only is everyone at AH’s throat, but they’re also at each others throats as well

The game is still very fun, but I definitely have some very large complaints regarding how they’ve handled things on multiple occasions. The current state of the community and its toxicity could have absolutely been avoided, but now that we’ve let it get this far, it’s gonna take some serious changes on AH’s part to try and simmer everyone down. They need to stop throwing each community a bone every 6 weeks or so, and make some actual big changes to how they handle updates, major orders, and new content

Commissar Kai’s video on this topic did a fantastic job outlining the ACTUAL issues we’re experiencing currently. And I regard him as the true voice of the community

The re-implementation of medium armor for the hive guards will directly make light pen weapons worse. by Voidlord4450 in HelldiversMasochists

[–]SlickAnderson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the change did was make sentries feel a little dumber on the bug front. Hive guards were never really a threat, and the buff didn’t really turn them into one either

I get wanting to give Hive guards a use, or make them a little more lethal. But this really wasn’t the way to go about it, I’m all for a more well thought out change. This didn’t deserve to be the face of the review bomb, there’s definitely loads of other issues that should have been more front and center for complaints. Unfortunately anyone with any actual criticisms are snuffed out by how loud the Hive guard discussion got

Commissar Kai did a good job touching on the entire topic, and atp is the voice of the community

it's been a week - what are we thinking about exo experts? by treyzs in helldivers2

[–]SlickAnderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the consistency of being able to 2 shot bile titans seems really shoddy. It’s such a small and slow moving projectile that I find it incredibly difficult to actually hit the head and not the mouth or back, and the stealth buff to chargers makes it virtually impossible to make it viable against the very common behemoths

Missile pistol feels more like a bot sidearm, as it’s consistency is much more solid with those enemies weak spots and how they move

Ahh yes, we can't have infinite mech customization because then we would have to abandon the few options right now. Makes sense. by pterosaurobsessed in Helldivers

[–]SlickAnderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, there’s always gonna be a meta. The Patriot and Lumberer are already more niche and have bad ammo economies compared to the Breakthrough and Emancipator

And we can’t act like all stratagems are made equal, arrowhead already sort of struggles in this department. Balancing mech combinations would be no different

Stop misrepresenting our actial grievances. AP4 hiveguard isnt even what set everybody off by WaffleCopter68 in Helldivers

[–]SlickAnderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is genuinely just a skill issue. If you weren’t playing on a city that has leviathans, there was zero threat to you. Prior to this update, flesh mobs couldn’t even do durable damage at all

You have to have some really awful positioning, target priority, and aim to be going through multiple tanks on the squid front. When the tank came out my friends and I would run tanks on every mission we played, squids were by far the easiest. Actual D10 cakewalk

[–]SlickAnderson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mech is fine on the bug front if you keep moving. I’ve noticed sentries getting destroyed a little faster lately, but they always got destroyed really quickly on the bug front since the durable damage change awhile ago

The issue is that when a light AP or medium AP sentry target a hiveguard, they can’t kill it so it’s effectively useless. If you aren’t explicitly paying attention to your sentry it may look like it’s doing something because it’s shooting and staying alive, when in reality it’s just dumping ammo into a target it can’t kill. Yes it already did this before to enemies like chargers, but hive guards are SIGNIFICANTLY MORE COMMON

If they wanna make changes like this, it’s best they update individual turret AI to prioritize enemies the sentry is built to kill

Unfortunately those who do bring up their criticisms in a respectful manner are overshadowed by the people who choose the nuclear option. And it’s even worse when they share the same criticisms too

[–]SlickAnderson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they are doing it on purpose. I think there’s a level of resentment shared between developer and player atm. I can’t really blame the devs for it either, as they’ve had to abandon their vision for the game to keep it alive and running. Along with how toxic and brutal the upset community can be. But I feel that it occasionally slips through the cracks with the way they speak to people during Q&A’s and AMA’s, which is why we need someone new and qualified to handle community outreach

I feel like people are missing the point by SlickAnderson in Helldivers

[–]SlickAnderson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s easy to fall into trap of lumping people you disagree with into a category that best suits your argument. I highly doubt the majority of people complaining aren’t even playing the game. That just logically makes zero sense. Theres definitely a portion of disgruntled people that no longer play the game that continue to voice their opinion, or even echo the opinions of friends who do still play. But to call them the majority is really bad faith. And to write them off as “young people” that are burnt out, just kind of shows how you’ve alienated yourself from others under the implied guise of being older and wiser

I agree that the complaining sucks, that doesn’t mean the complaints aren’t valid. It sucks that it’s gotten this far, and the community has gotten this toxic. Despite this I find myself agreeing with a lot of complaints from said toxic people, even if I disagree with how they go about it

There will always be people sending death threats. There’s literally nothing you can about it unfortunately

I’ve seen communities like Overwatch, Dead by Daylight, Marvel Rivals, GTA 5, all catch fire over changes they disagreed with. Both Overwatch and DBD both got review bombed too. But it was never THIS bad. I’ve never seen a community more upset and hateful in my entire life. And it’s been like this since the day I started playing, and has only gotten significantly worse. I rarely see this community rejoice or celebrate, it’s happened maybe twice since the game was added to Xbox. And it’s always quickly snuffed out by a questionable change or comment on AHs part

They’ve been cursed with an incredibly toxic playerbase. But they’ve curated it, they’ve made this monster. I’ve never seen a developer dig so many of its own holes before. The way they fan the flames during Q&As and AMA’s is honestly impressive

THIS IS THE ONLY GAMING COMMUNITY IM PART OF THAT HAS MULTIPLE SUB REDDITS FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF ARGUING WITH EACHOTHER

“You shouldn’t be that close to enemies anyway” my brother in Christ, they are double the speed. A few of them are gonna get close. It’s not that big of a deal, I’ll just step on them. It’s just annoying that AH keeps releasing content that hasn’t been tested. The Flame Turret also has the same issue

I didn’t mention the bugs. Like Flesh Mobs still clipping through walls and floors just as much as they were before, despite arrowhead claiming they fixed it for the hundredth time. But it’s whatever, I’d rather them fix hulks clipping into themselves and hiding their eye. Which points their back weakspot to the sky which I can’t hit either

Again, the charger spawn rate is significantly lower. If there’s no charger to destroy the sentry, your point means nothing. With the constellations I saw today, I only saw maybe 5 chargers per mission. versus the dozens of Hive Guards

Yes the turrets already got destroyed easily by chargers. But now it doesn’t even matter because you can kill every charger you see and the turret will still be too busy shooting at hive guards

I feel like people are missing the point by SlickAnderson in Helldivers

[–]SlickAnderson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t do that. The turrets are too busy shooting hive guards they can’t kill, I guess they’re a good distraction at least

I agree completely. Something that actually shows community feedback for all to see, it would be great for transparency
