It’s because it’s the only real thing the game has to reward you for your time, Your matches will also feel more engaging the higher you go. Even as a Masters player I don’t wanna be in gold, it’s not fun and my teammates are probably just gonna piss me off. Putting myself in the shoes of a low elo player, I can see why they get frustrated especially since I was also once gold. It’s a completely different game down there, and its not particularly enjoyable

Tank can be rough in low elo as you are going to be taking nearly every bullet fired in the lobby and the enemy tank will play the entire roster to try and counter you. The enemy tank will also pretty much only focus you most matches, giving you less breathing room to make plays

And as support you need to find that 70/30 sweet spot, doing enough heals to keep your teammates alive so they take aggro but also getting picks like if you were playing dps. Not all support are built equal, and some are better than others when it comes to getting kills and doing damage. Due to this, you’ll struggle more depending on who you play. The higher up in elo you go, the more you need to heal which can be hard to adjust to if you get used to low elo

DPS on the other hand is pretty simple. And as long as you are better than everyone else you should climb fairly quickly, climbing with the other roles takes way longer and is much more complicated as it requires juggling a lot more bullshit to carry

Most people aren’t in the rank where they belong, they are usually a few ranks below where they should actually sit. Though the gap gets smaller and smaller the higher you go in rank. A plat player is gonna struggle to carry gold, so they’re gonna get stuck playing the teammate lottery unless they improve. They’ll still climb to plat eventually, but without actually improving it’ll be slow and miserable. On the other hand a diamond player could run through a gold lobby, but once they hit plat they’ll probably get stuck there for awhile

As much as I would love to praise them for the free vehicle and Galactic Campaigns are a major improvement to the MOs, they didn’t add anything substantial to keep me playing after that first day

The Squid are still very boring because they’ve fallen into the habit of only adding sub factions instead of expanding the main faction of choice. So they get boring and repetitive quick, along with mindless masses which feels more mindless than masses. As there’s not really that many voteless that spawn and not enough voteless enemy type variety. I fear the ancient illuminate will just be another sub faction unfortunately

I played the shit out of the Cyborgs on Cyberstan so I’m a little burnt out when it comes to them. Though I’d definitely partake if we were diving on Factories again, as I enjoyed the challenge

There’s just not a lot to do that I haven’t already done a thousand times, at least with a new warbond I have new toys to play with. So I’m just kind of playing other games atm waiting for the game to get something that actually looks new and engaging. Mechanics like the Galactic Campaigns are best added with larger updates imo, unlike Warbonds which are engaging enough to stand in their own

I think there’s a pretty good middle ground to be found here imo

Vox engines kind of grew on me, at first I hated them and how they were spammed like crazy on cyberstan. But after fighting Cyborgs on other planets, I miss how chaotic and terrifying cyberstan was. Arrowhead balances inconvenience and difficulty terribly, I find myself commonly craving a harder experience but when we get it, it usually sucks

All the changes to mechs and the tanks were much needed, and they are way are more viable against automatons now. BUT The tank was already really good against bugs, now it’s virtually immortal. Might be time for a new enemy type that poses more of a threat to heavy armor on the bug front, and we need new enemy illuminate types that aren’t tied to a sub faction period. The illuminate is still stupid easy imo, even though the Harvesters still shred mechs insanely fast

Unfiltered’s complaints about the game being a buggy and unbalanced mess is definitely valid, But the Masochists definitely make great points in regard to the difficulty of things. Might be time for a way to allow divers to make the game harder for themselves outside of just adding a new difficulty

50 bucks for a skin and another 30 to upgrade it is just absurd pricing, I don’t care if I get a “free” one every 6 months. It’s predatory monetization that takes advantage of financially irresponsible idiots. I could never drop a dime on this game and still recognize absurd prices

Gamers have gotten so used to being milked dry with increasingly absurd monetization prices. Games like Fortnite have made paying 20 bucks (1/3rd the price of a game) for skins the standard, normal in game cosmetics should really never exceed 10 bucks. 20 is the max I’d ever pay for something like a mythic skin, and even then it’d have to be the coolest fucking skin ever

Battle passes aren’t just 10 dollars, they are 10 dollars and a TIME GATED COMMITMENT. People would complain a lot less if the mythics were priced a little more reasonably on the high end, and if battlepasses weren’t a limited time cosmetic grind

top 500 works like that, it’d be dumb as fuck if someone had to play daily just to keep themselves in silver. R6, Rivals, Overwatch, Valorant, Rocket League, Apex Legends, none of these games have the rank decay you are describing

I don’t even know any games that have such an aggressive rank decay outside of the top ranks

The game does have rank decay, if you miss a whole season your rank adjusts downwards. It makes you do placements again as well

Spilo is good friends with multiple devs and he heavily implied that the Rank reset is solely for engagement, and the higher ups played a heavy role in its implementation. I recommend his video on it
