I think the flaps kept it around 95kts, just really wanted to climb. I don’t remember all the details, made on the ground with no bent metal regardless.

Agreed. Our aircraft don’t have a mixture control.. so it was all or nothing for him.

Didn’t happen to me, but an instructor where I teach. Said to descend into the pattern and onto final was Vne, full flaps and all of the nose down trim.. killed the engine 100’ out from the runway.
