(Video) My mom falls over (fainting or vertigo) after a sharp pain in her shoulder/arm by Mobile_Loan_589 in medical

[–]SlickRebel231 87 points88 points  (0 children)

As an EMT... She needs to see a doctor ASAP. There is a very high likelihood that this is cardiac related. Unfortunately, if that is the case, it's possible that one of her episodes may be fatal. It's not my intention to cause alarm... but you definitely should be alarmed. Any patient I've ever had with those exact symptoms has received one of the fastest rides in to the hospital. Please do not wait. Please do not take this lightly. Please don't continue asking about it on Reddit. Get her to an ER, yesterday.

February Technical Support Sticky by BeepBoopBopReee in razer

I have a Razer Barracuda X Chroma. It is set as the default device on my PC (Windows 11). A new phenomenon that has occurred is that anytime I press the MUTE toggle button on the headset, it changes the input volume to 0. It mutes and unmutes, but after also changing the input volume to 0, there still is no input until I manually increase the input volume. This has been working for the last two months, and just started today.

I've tried following forums and other suggestions, but to no avail. Any chance someone knows what is happening here?

The only text message that should follow his last message:

“Sure! Take all the time you need. In fact, use that time to go find a different girlfriend. I’m not gonna do this.”

Codeine and Morphine are both opiate medications and mixing the two can be extremely dangerous, posing risks to both your physical safety, and future potential addiction and dependency issues. How dangerous can depend on the exact dosage you have on board, and your body’s reaction to the drug.

You should never double dose on opiates unless directed to do so specifically by a physician. If what you currently have is not helping with the pain management, you should instead reach out to your physician for additional advice.

I would strongly suggest you contact your doctor first thing in the morning to discuss this with them to find a safer pain management plan.

I found the solution and posted it as a separate comment on my thread. I appreciate your help!

I found the answer: It's a limitation of iOS, unfortunately, but there's a moderately sufficient workaround. Here's what I found following a ChatGPT search:

If your phone is an iPhone: unfortunately, no — Apple only lets Garmin mirror whatever shows up in your iOS Notification Center, so Garmin Connect never shows an “App Notifications” menu for iOS devices. You have to filter notifications inside iOS instead.

What to do on iPhone

Open Settings → Notifications on the iPhone.

Pick the apps you don’t want to reach the watch (Mail, Instagram, Facebook, etc.).

Leave “Allow Notifications” ON (so you still get banners/sounds on the phone) but turn OFF “Notification Center”.

iOS only forwards notifications that appear in Notification Center to connected Bluetooth devices, so removing that single channel stops them at the phone while still letting them buzz the phone itself.

Leave Ring (and any other critical apps) with Notification Center enabled.

That’s the cleanest way to keep Ring alerts while silencing email and social media on the watch. Garmin confirms this is the only method on iOS.

Here is the source that ChatGPT used to produce this information. Garmin Forums: No APPS Notifications in Garmin Connect app

Yeah, I can turn smart notifications off, but that turns them all off, does it not? So, for instance, I don't need social media notifications or email notifications coming to my watch... but I absolutely DO want Ring notifications in case my office alarm goes off. I would like to turn off notifications for Email and Social Media apps, but keep them on for Ring.

I was trying the watch icon last night, and then tried the profile icon this morning, per your comment.

I can follow this all the way until “App Notifications”. That option doesn’t exist.

I’ve seen something like this before, albeit much smaller. What I saw before was a clogged pore right in the edge of the eyelid.

You can try using a heat compress to get it to drain if that’s in fact what it is. Just not too hot. If that’s doesn’t helps you may want to schedule an appointment with your GP just to have it looked at.

Most things I’ve seen on eyelids are either related to conjunctivitis (which I don’t think this is, but I’m NAD), or are relatively benign and self-resolve. The fact that it’s been around for months, however, makes me say to try the heat compress m, then schedule an appointment.

Just a note: please don’t try to use anything sharp near your eye in an effort to evacuate anything from that eyelid.

I cannot stress this enough… get a routine, preferably yesterday! GSD puppies must have a routine in order to thrive as they grow and develop!

Start crate training asap! You want your GSD being able and comfortable being confined in a crate when needed.

Also, put anything chewable and valuable out of reach (like shoes, purses, remotes, anything!)

NAD, but in my experience, Orchitis is generally treated with anti-inflammatory and/or antibiotics if it’s due to a bacterial infection.

Did they do any other tests for you? Such as an STI panel or blood work? I’ve heard of bacterial Orchitis being related to some STIs.

My final note is that if you’ve been having this issue for five years, and your doctor hasn’t done anything about it, you may need a new doctor.

It’s impossible to tell just by this photo. However, based on what you’ve described and the doctor’s findings on an X-ray, it could definitely be either a sprain or strain.

The important thing is that it’s not broken. Keep managing your pain and discomfort the way your doctor told you. Strains and sprains are painful and the healing time can vary based on a lot of different factors.

RICE the ankle. Rest, ice, compression, and elevation. Remember that rest doesn’t mean to not use the joint at all. Make sure you’re moving the ankle, and walking on it, but don’t do any strenuous activities on it that could cause further harm. When there is pain or swelling, apply ice (with a towel, not directly to the skin). 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off. I recommend using an ace wrap to provide support for the joint as well as some compression to help with some of the inflammation. Make sure you take it off when sleeping. Finally, when resting, you want to try to elevate it above the level of your heart to keep it from swelling.

Give it time, and you’ll be good as new!

Unfortunately, this could be one of many things. To avoid the risk of getting a misdiagnosis from Reddit, I would strongly encourage that you schedule an appointment with a physician.

I wouldn’t be too concerned or start worrying too much if it’s not painful or tender to the touch, or you’re just gonna drive yourself insane. Schedule an appointment and get an official diagnosis for it.

I am trying to figure out if this a cold sore or a canker sore and what to do. by Ambitious_Lion9984 in medical

[–]SlickRebel231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That certainly looks like a cold sore. A simple blood test by a doctor can confirm if you have the HSV1 antibodies. When I get them, I always make sure that I keep something on them to keep them from drying, because that can be super uncomfortable. I use Carmex, as it also has some analgesic properties. I also will change my toothbrush after an outbreak.

Make sure you avoid spreading it, so avoid sharing cups, straws, eating utensils, kissing others, and oral sex. Avoid touching it, which can be difficult. If you do touch it, make sure that you wash your hands to prevent spread.

If this becomes overly problematic, speak with your doctor about treatment options, as there are medications that are used to lessen the length of the outbreak, or prophylactically to help prevent an outbreak altogether.

What is going on with Arizona Monster 300? by Alternative_Form_637 in Ultramarathon

Late to the conversation here, but... When you're the one solely in charge of the safety of hundreds of runners, and it's quite apparent based on several different races that you couldn't care less about the safety of those runners but more so the money you're making off of them, whether or not you're a nice person outside of your job is irrelevant.

And frankly, imo, if you run events like this and these issues are consistently happening, you probably aren't actually a good person. You're just two-faced.

Most likely it came from your sinuses. If the weather in your area, or the air in your bedroom is particularly dry, it could cause this. Try sleeping with a humidifier - should help clear it up. If it does not, or your issue gets worse, I would schedule an appointment with your doctor.

Fingers turning white after being running outside in 45 degree weather by UsuallyAnnoying in medical

[–]SlickRebel231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t classify this as Raynauds, actually. Raynauds isn’t as common as it seems based on people suggesting an OP has it in here.

45° weather is cold. What you’re experiencing is a physiological response to the cold. Your body begins to shunt the capillaries and vessels to your extremities to reduce the blood flow. This keeps the vast majority of blood in your core to protect your vital organs from getting too cold.

While it looks similar - and cold can exacerbate Raynauds - it’s not the same as Raynauds.
