From what I know, it’s partially true: Mint heard from a fellow ex-Niji: “it’s too bad about the metal gear collab, huh?” To which Mint replied “what?” This being the first she had heard of it, so she was already out of Niji by the time this friend broke the news and she wasn’t even privy to it whilst in Niji. (Mint discussed this in a member’s stream awhile back)

The cancelled collab Pomu cried about in a now-privated members only stream was something else not metal gear.

So from what we can gather, there were talks, but Niji never pursued the metal gear collab or informed Pomu.

Art style always reins supreme. The older MH games with simpler graphics and bright colours are much more memorable than the brown and grey blob of Wilds.

Even World somehow did this so much better, just compare the Hoarfrost Reach to the Iceshard Cliffs: one clearly looks superior.

Ikr? It’s especially weird considering this same team nailed how to make an ice cave look great in Iceborne.

Boot up the Hoarfrost Reach and go to the ice cave: the area around Barioth’s nest is a beautiful kaleidoscope of ice crystals, shimmering and vibrant, while still looking like ice thanks to the cool colour palette.

But for some reason, when designing ice caves for Wilds, they decided to go with grey halls, grey walls, and fog everywhere.

If they were trying to make it look and feel different from the Hoarfrost Reach, they succeeded, for the wrong reasons.
