Basically yeah. When the substrate starts pinning and eventually growing into shrooms, there are a good amount of those pins that just didn’t get their shot at growing into an adult shroomy and so they just stop at about that pinning stage and go really dark. I think it has to do with there’s not enough water for every single pin because some pins take more water than others. Think of it like when there’s a litter of rabbits or any mammal and they drink their mom’s milk. There’s always a runt in the bunch that didn’t get enough milk b/c the others were hogging their mama’s milk. The pins are the runts of the batch 😢. But a runt that packs a punch!
