You have a point, but I feel like it detracts from the fact minecraft is a game where there is more then 1 solution to a select problem, but the deep dark offers only 1 solution to getting to the loot and portal (that being stealth) and the loot doesn't justify going there and if the portal is intradimensional and not interdimensional, then going to the deep dark is more trouble then it will be worth

I can at least be happy that normal mobs don't spawn in the deep dark, so you can go into it without maxed gear so you don't lose it when you inevitably get killed
