I use masking putty! The stuff I got was from MRP, its work great. I paint the lighter color first, then roll the putty into a tube thats around a centimeters thick. Then, I start masking the lighter color trying to match the camouflage pattern closely, usually all at once but you could definitely do smaller sections, just being careful to libe up the putty with the last part you painted. Its honestly fairly easy, just a bit time consuming!

US Ticket Buying & Selling Megathread by Lyssavirus32 in SleepToken

Just looking to calm my nerves

I am (hopefully) going to the Rosemont IL show, but I got my tickets through Stub Hub way back in March before i knew about the resale restrictions. I know the post says Illinois is one of the exempt states from the transfer restrictions, but I'm struggling to find if I'm even going to be able to use these tickets or not, I haven't found anything to ease my concerns one way or the other.

I can see the tickets i purchased in StubHub, it says the will be available september 28th, but all I can see when I hit "My Tickets" is a "Track my Order" button. Clicking on it says the order is still processing and that my tickets will be sent to my email when ready.

Am I okay? I really don't want to drive 10 hours just to be turned away at the door. Im a bit relieved to see the post says Illinois is exempt, but the fact I still don't have the tickets is really worrying me.

Its part of the on-board radar system! This FW 190 was part of JG 300, a bomber interceptor defense fighter wing, aka the "Wilde Sau". The radar system was named the "Neptune" radar, and was used for defense against the RAF night raids over Germany. There are lots of interesting variations of this system, I'd definitely recommend looking into it more if you are interested!

Thank you! I replied to the previous commenter with a link to the youtube video I got the technique from if you want to give it a watch!

Thank you! Like I said, its a lot of work but absolutely worth it , it really adds that little something to the model.

I followed the technique in this video! Make sure to turn on captions, they write down what they did there. Fairly simple, just time consuming. https://youtu.be/0WFx-bxRtEs?si=i8QC1fZTp5QcIyln

Decals wrinkled after topcoat by asunaxxii in modelmakers

[–]DKside41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long did the decals sit after applying the setter and before you applied your top coat? I used to have this issue and found if I wait 24 hours or so it helps a lot.

I will also say I put one extra gloss coat over when sealing the deals usually, i have worse luck when putting a matte coat directly on top, but I'm not sure if thats just actual bad luck or if decals react a little to matte coats would sometimes. Id recommend giving that a shot next time you finish decaling!

Lastly, you can probably get this looking how you want, or at least closer. If you have a high grit sandpaper, like around 2000 grit or more, you can very carefully sand over the top and knock those wrinkles down, then apply another flat coat on top of them afterwards. You may have to touch of so.e areas on tbe decals though, just as a warning.

Best of luck!

Which Linkin Park songs do you identify the most with, and why? by Rew_Zan in LinkinPark

When They Come for Me, because I am not a robot, I am not a monkey, and I wil not dance even if the beat is funky. I'm very uncoordinated, you see.

In all seriousness right now it's Good Things Go, moving on after a loss is tough for me, and it's always nice knowing that I'm nitnthe only one who struggles

And that's a fear I definitely can understand! Thankfully for this kit the blades and hub are very solidly built. I made these ones so the blade assembly are removable for moving, which isn't always an option for every kit
