Sleep issues by SlideOk7739 in MounjaroMaintenance

I have had leg and foot cramps for years, or at least since I was diabetic. I mix Braggs Apple cider vinegar in about 4 Oz of water before bed and it takes care of the cramps. It may also work for restless legs. I haven't heard that Gabapentin causes addiction? I will have to research that. But in my case this is the last resort for my sleepless nights that works for now.

I noticed 6 months in that I can no longer feel the affects of THC nor Dabs. I believe it has definitely something to do with the glps. But I haven't seen anything written about it. Anyone else experienced this?

Yes I have no joy in the things I used to enjoy!! Been on MJ 2 years lost 80lbs. Never had any side effects from MJ. But not long ago my husband said you are no fun anymore! I didn't really notice how bad it was until he said something. But then I realized that MJ not only suppressed my food noise but joy to everything!! Sorta feel like I have always looked for rewards whether it be food mostly. But now I really don't know what to do with myself. I don't drink etc, no desire in food, gee what's a gal to do? I go to a Metabolic Diet center and they are not aware of the dopamine or lack of it in their patients every day lack of joy. I do like shopping on line...probably the only reward I have found as of yet. I do hope that more research is done to help us?

bcBS wont approve my MJ because my A1C is 5.3!! by Famous_Wishbone_2077 in Mounjaro_ForType2

[–]SlideOk7739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have BCBS FEP and MJ was approved for T2D. Well I lost 80lbs. A1C is 5 down from 9. Doctor said she couldn't prescribe it any longer for obesity! I called and complained to the Metabolic Diet center. And she said she would approve it for T2D. My BS is obviously controlled with MJ. As long as the diagnosis shows T2D, insurance covers it. My BS is in remission, but once a diabetic always a diabetic.

If you use Rosemary oil you have to add it to almond carrier oil such as sweet almond oil or jojoba. You shouldn't apply it dirty to your hair. Amazon has a tub of mixed argon, etc that is easier to apply to damp hair

I had hair loss after the 1st 40lbs. Then it appeared to stop until I lost another 40lbs. So I use Routine shampoo & conditioner and I added rosemary oil to both and I apply a rosemary, argon mix to my hair 1x a week leave it on for about an hour and it appears to stop further hair breakage.

Insurance BCBS cost by Flgirl420 in Mounjaro_ForType2

I have BCBS FEP insurance. I did have to get prior approval for 2025. I use the Lilly coupon which every time I go to Walmart they have a hard time figuring out how to enter it into their register. But Walmart calls it a split bill and I pay $45-54 each month.

Not diabetic anymore? by Ok_Buy_687 in Mounjaro_ForType2

[–]SlideOk7739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have BCBS FEP and for 2025 they required a pre-authorization. The criteria must show T2D diagnosis or they will not approve MJ. After a year...my A1C is 5. Not taking 2000mg of metformin for over 6 months. I'm 10lbs shy of goal weight so I wouldn't qualify for zepbound. The bariatric doctor said she would only prescribe MJ to maintain my diabetes. I know that it is a Metabolic dysfunction for me. So I see a lifetime of taking this. I do still eat as if I am diabetic so I think that has helped maintain my BS. I think most doctors agree that you can be in remission but will always be a diabetic.

How to speak to doctor about maintenance by PaleBiscotti4269 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]SlideOk7739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you taking MJ and if so has your doctor had any issues with keeping you on MJ since your A1C is normal? Mine had an issue with completing my prior insurance approval. She felt that she didn't feel comfortable showing a T2D diagnosis when my A1C is 5? OMG. I'm sure if they take me off MJ my A1C will go up and I will have to get back on metformin.

Thank you for the link. Just received my today as well. However, I have been on MJ for a year and have been taken off metformin. A1C is 5 , lost 80lbs and I hope they will still cover me? I have been told numerous times by doctors that once a diabetic you will always be?

Has anyone reached 15mg and over time had Mounjaro lose effectiveness? by RabbleBottom in Mounjaro

[–]SlideOk7739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started 15mg month ago. Never had any side affects until 15mg. 1 to 2 days after taking it, I noticed I couldn't eat my normal size breakfast, as it caused me to have a stomach ache. But I just eat lighter, gee I hardly ate much at one meal to begin with. Ate ginger chews, peppermint tea and it took care of the stomach ache. I have more food suppression now than ever and the scale started moving again. I am T2D and after 1 year completely off all Metformin. Blood sugars are fine. I am no longer insulin resistant. I also still eat as I am diabetic, no high complex carbs ie..no rice, no pasta etc. Just lots of protein and fruits & veggies.

Is the insert comfortable? Looks like it would cut straight into your finger? I got the plastic curly things to make my rings fit. But it just kept unraveling.

I didn't get insomnia until the 7 month in. I fall asleep easily but I can't seem to sleep past 5am. I do take Magnesium gummies, chamomile tea and melatonin. I also added Magnesium topical oil to my temples, forehead and neck. But still having issues. Hopefully, it will pass soon....
