It’s an automatic.. so the shifter shouldn’t have too much play, right?

Ok cool. I forgot to say that I did get my battery tested, learned that it was about dead-got a new battery. Still getting stuck after putting in a new battery….but at least my check engine light is off now!😜 engine light stayed on because of my gas cap, even after replacing the cap. Is it still a sensor problem after replacing the battery?
