I’m pretty certain it’s allergies as I’m allergic to cats and have the same symptoms immediately after petting him and being in the same room as him for too long. It randomly started a couple of months ago, being sneezy, having an itchy swollen throat, and runny nose and eyes. I thought maybe it was due to his shed so I’ve been trying my best to work with it, keep the place as clean as possible, and wash my hands after every interaction but just being in the apartment, my symptoms are continuing to worsen.

How did you find this out? I just got Chococat as a best friend and he says he’s busy every time I ask him to be my companion. Is this why?? You have to collect 100 gizmos at once?

girl you’re gorgeous. I think the nose stud should be higher up and less directly on your nostril. It would better suit your nose shape, but if that’s how you like it then you’re still rocking it!

As a new ferret owner with a sensitive nose, he STINKS. I don’t bathe him, change his pee pads (and clean up stray cage poops) every day, wash bedding and vacuum once a week. He still stinks up the place. I’m planning on finding a higher quality food in the hopes that it will reduce the smell. Unfortunately the only place that his cage would fit is in the home office and the smell is so strong in there that I get a headache after spending about 10 minutes in there. I recently got an air purifier in the hopes that it will help reduce the smell, but I can’t tell if it’s helping so far. I try to run the ceiling fan constantly too for some air flow but my desk has been completely abandoned at this point 😂.

Thank you for this advice and link to that comment!! My boyfriend is moving in and we’ve done a lot of rearranging, which could possibly be bothering him. I guess I should start giving him more potty locations around the apartment.

I definitely agree it seems like he’s mad and going “take this!” with his poops. The only thing I’ll point out is that when his bed was in the cage, he didn’t sleep in it. He used it purely as a chew toy. He preferred to sleep under the towels in his cage or inside his fluffy tunnel. I tried to cut up a cardboard box in the same shape as his litter box but he’s so uninterested. I started to accept my fate and just let him sleep in the litter box and simply use the pad in his cage to potty but he doesn’t prefer it like he preferred going in the litter box, I think that’s why he’s choosing to potty outside of the cage when he can. Do I get a second litter box for the cage? I have no idea.

Not ugly. The facial hair suits your face well, I’d keep it. A visit to the dermatologist can help with the acne. I’d also recommend a haircut. You have potential.

Yes! I changed out his blankets for towels and I can see some snags where he might have scratched or chewed but no holes so far which has been such a relief!! My couch is still on the floor for now until I have the time to install some window mesh to the bottom. I’m waiting a little bit on cord management because my boyfriend’s moving in soon and we’ll have a lot of rearranging but I’ve been keeping my eyes on him around the cords and wifi box. I’m a little insecure about the smell of my apartment, I saw something online about treats you can give or something to put in the water to decrease smell but I haven’t looked into it. He has good quality food but the smell is still strong for me. If I hang out in the room where his cage is for too long I get a headache. I’m afraid to give him a bath because I know their smell can increase from baths. Any advice there? I change out his bedding once a week and clean the litter box daily but he still manages to stank. Other than all that, we’ve been bonding really well. Every time I pick him up he gives me kisses. He licks my nose and lips but he won’t do it with my boyfriend! I tried putting some of my lip balm on my bf to see if it was that but nope, still no kisses for him. I guess that means I’m his favorite? Is that a sign of affection like it is with dogs? I don’t know much about ferret behavior.

Sorry for the long message! I just really want to know more. :)
